I was wondering when returning from an international flight if the immigration officer/computer can tell if an individual is on parole from a state of michigan prison. if anyone has any info please reply or send me an e-mail

I don't know. Not something I would recommend anyone even trying. I believe that if you are on parole you need permission from your PO to even leave the state.

Yes, they can.......through a computerized system, connecting State to State, called the LEIN (Law Enforcement Information Network) to which the INS has access.

Pre-9/11 it was much looser. I hear now that it's really tightened up.

By the way.....this is also the system MI DOC taps into when approving applications to be on a visiting list.

The LEIN is nation-wide and is designed specifically to track anyone with a criminal record.
