today as i was driving past easterling correctional facilty, a question came to me why do they call it "correctional"? what are they trying to correct? why do they call it that? why not just call it what it is, a prison.

They call it correctional so it appears appealing to the eye. They figure if they put prison on every prison in alabama visitors to this state would see just screwed up Alabama's justice system is.
