I need to know how to go about finding the AIS# and address to write inmates. I also need to know who they will let write and who they want.

The Alabama Dept. of Corrections has an online inmate locator on the site, all you need is the inmate's name and it will give you the AIS number. Here's the link:

You would address a letter to Tutwiler this way:

<NAME> <AIS #>
8966 US Hwy. 231 N.
Wetumpka AL 36092

If by chance they're not at Tutwiler, the facility map for the ADOC site gives all addresses for all Alabama facilities:

you will also need to know the dorm number before you write, if you do not have it, your letter will be returned!!!!!!
