Hello everyone, my cousin was just sent to DVI (Duel Vocational Institution) in Tracy so that means he's currently in reception there. So I was wondering if anyone can please tell me what items I am allowed to send him while his in reception? Can I send him stamps, pre-stamped envelopes, writing paper, pens pencils, etc....? Also, is there a limit on the items I can send? Any and all info. is greatly appreciated!

When a friend was there I was able to send him writing tablets and/or binder paper, pre stamped envelopes and 2 clear ink pens.I can't remember the paper and envelope limit off hand....sorry!
My brother was in the mainline at DVI for about 9 years....the mailroom there was usually pretty helpful in answering questions about what you can send. They'd rather answer your questions ahead of time then have to deal with rejecting things you send in that aren't allowed.
I'm afraid I don't have the number anymore, but you should be able to find it on the CDC website. Then you can call the main number and ask to speak to the mail room. They'll be able to give you all the specifics.

My son was just transferred to Tracy two days ago so I need the same info. I called yesterday and spoke to Juanita in the mailroom she stated the following:
2 - 8.5x11 writing tablets or 200 sheets binder paper
20 - stamps or pre-stamped envelopes
2 - clear plastic pens (bic) or #2 pencils (unsharpened)
(you can also send one of each)
12 - pictures (preferably 4x6 or 5x7 but no larger than 8x10)
These items must be sent in a manila envelope with no tape or clasps.
and must include a return address.
Mail the package to: PO Box 600, Tracy, CA 95378
Money orders are to be sent to: PO Box 20, Tracy, CA 95378
