Can anyone explain what "good time Bal" means on an imate summary (time sheet)? Joe has sent me his because it still bothers him that they have a different date on the computer. Also is there a difference of how many days they earn for different inmates.? What do security levels mean? What are detainer warrants? I hope someone can answer these questions for me, you know "knowledge is power".

First of all - a question. :)
How many years was he sentenced? If an inmate is sentenced for over 15 years, then they don't qualify for good time. Anything less than 15, then he gets days knocked off his sentence for days he serves that he's not in trouble.
"Good Time Bal(ance) is how much good time (or days off his sentence) he's earned.
Security level can be maximum, medium, minimum-in, minimum-out, community, and I think work release falls under community, but am not sure about that one. Custody levels are in Roman numerals I, II, III, IV, V, etc. The higher the number, the higher the custody level.
Detainer warrants mean, "Is he wanted anywhere else?" Does he have any charges pending anywhere else? As long as there are detainer warrants, he'll stay in maximum custody until those are resolved.
Hope this helps! It sounds as though he might not have gotten credit for time done at a county jail? Happens all of the time! Or else somebody's not giving him credit for good time.

this paper states that he earns 75 days for every 30 served. He has no detainer warrants and under good time ballance it has 000y 06m 200. He sent me this because his eos date on this has january and the computer still says june. I told him that I was already told not to worry about what the computer says, but telling him not to worry about something is like telling the pope not to pray.

I too would worry, a computer error could indeed cause delay's (Alabama.DOC using every excuse in the world to delay stuff)....best of luck to you and yours.........
