i am rooting for Jeff Burton but boy oh boy my house on Nascar days is crazy we all have a different favorite and we have so much fun on race days ...LOL hubbys man retired this year (#2) Rusty Wallace so now he still has # 2 Kurt Bush then one son likes Jeff Gordon one likes Jimmie Johnson even our grandkids have their favorites,oh yeah and one daughter likes Mark Martin .....so picture us on race day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having been a writer for a racing paper and having the pleasure of meeting many of the drivers I can tell you some of the nicest ones out there.

Since I no longer write for the paper I can tell you my personal favorite :

I also know Tony Stewart extremely well as he was part of our circuit for a long time prior to racing in Nascar, in fact he still races with us from time to time and purchased one of the largest dirt track facilities in Ohio known as Eldora Speedway. He in fact was there a few week ago racing with many other of the famed Nascar drivers :)

Fellah and I are such Tony Stewart fans, that when I was working at the hotel, and a guest walked in wearing a Tony Stewart hat, I asked him what it would take to buy the hat from him. The guest said, he would swap it if I had a hat to replace it with!!

Well, earlier that year the FBI had stayed at the hotel and each of the front desk crew got an FBI hat.

The trade was on! I think I get the better end of the deal!!! A Tony Stewart hat for free!!!

Hi NASCAR fans, My guy is loyal to Dale Jr., and I used to follow Jeff Gordon (still like him actually), but I've switched my loyalties this year. Although he hasn't got a chance in this year's Chase, I think that Kyle Busch has a real future ahead of him. In fact, I like both the Busch brothers, but ever since the cops dogged him for "chirping" his tires, Kyle has been my favorite. I guess I enjoy picking a rookie and following his career for a few years. Someone else will be my new favorite down the road. I'm a little fickle when it comes to who I cheer for. Good luck to all the "gentlemen."

#3 Will always be my man. I miss him so, I was there when he dies, very sad. But I like JR # 8. Though he'll probably never be as good as his daddy.

Are you ready for some racin'? It looks like an interesting season ahead. How many drivers have been slapped with penalties already, and the season hasn't actually started yet? What do you-all think of that Gilliland guy? I kinda like him. I think he might make a good showing this year. But I still have a soft spot in my heart for that duo out of Vegas. And how about that Vegas track? After all the changes they've made, the trial speeds from Vegas track seem to promise that we're really going to see some racing in Nevada. I'm psyched. I was so happy and cheered him all the way to 2nd place. I was so mad (and still am) at Kevin Harvick. That snot nose little brat. His wife owns the team, so you know why he won. I'm not bitter or anything. Martin had 29 starts in the Daytona 500, he lost by .02 of a second and all is fair in love and war. Kevin won fair and square and it's not right!!!!

I hope Martin drives in the majority of the races this year. He is such a good guy and he deserves a nextel cup win. IMHO. I am a little biast, though.:p

Harvick and his wife own a Busch team not Nextel. They dont own the car that own the Dayton. I was screaming so loud at the TV my kids finally thought that I lost it. That was a good race.

I was thinking of you Van'sgirl when Mark Martin came so close. At one point it looked like my little firecracker (Kyle Busch) might take second.

I really didn't know much about Harvick, but he was on Jimmy Kimmel tonight, and he seems to be a very nice, down-to-earth guy. He made a good impression on me. I'm sorry your guy didn't win though, but he made a very good showing.

You know what's strange, looking at the stats. Kurt Busch led in almost half the laps (95 I think it was). That seems like quite an accomplishment and evidence of a good driver, but too bad. Better luck next time. You gotta luv it.

My man is Dale Jr. although he didn't do well this past Sunday, I am still standing strong in who I believe in.

I get so frustruated, because Martin always starts out so good, and I think this is the year. And then, repeat of the years before. This last week he was the, and I can't remember the exact word, but I think they said something like the emotional pick (I know that's not the right word), but anyway you know what I mean.

I am soooo glad that Martin is not driving a Viagara car this year. I know he's not driving for Rausch this year, too. I was in the Army for 4 years so this is one more reason for me to cheer him on!!!!!

What do you think about Martin now? After 3 races, he's still in the points lead, isn't he? He's number uno. He's showing the young blood a few things before he retires, I guess.

I was reading an article the other day, and it was only speculation, but they suggested that if he continues to do this well, he may decide to run a full season instead of the partial season he had planned.

It looks like you might know how to pick a winner. As for me -- I like them all, but those two Busch brothers are the ones I'm watching. My little Kyle is doing pretty good. I think he's 7th in points. But the season is still very young.

Does anyone here use the NASCAR.com site as a reference for information? I've been using it for several years with very few problems. This year, it's a mess. I heard that it had been taken over by Sirius. Is anyone else having trouble with it?

Re: Martin's Retirement: I just read an article that contradicted the article I read about a week ago. It said that in spite of the good runs he's been having, and even if they continue for the next couple weeks, Martin intends to stick to his previously announced schedule for a partial season. I'm sure he knows what's best for him, but in a way, that's kind of sad -- he was doing so well, and it would have been quite the coup if he could have gone out with the Championship to look back on. Oh well, you have to make room for the young blood, I guess.

This weekend is Atlanta -- they say that's a fast track. Last week everyone was boo-hooing that Las Vegas was too fast. All it boiled down to is that the track was rebuilt and the drivers weren't used to it. Next year they should do better in LV.

I hope you-all noticed that my little Kyle Busch has moved up to seventh. My guy is a Jr fan, so I'm just loving this. Have fun everyone cheering for your favorite drivers.

I'm excited about the Bristol race tomorrow too. You gotta love those short tracks. I watched about the last hour of the Busch Race today, and it was like a comedy of errors -- e.g., they announced that the pit road was open but failed to change the light, so some guys pitted and others obeyed the light and stayed on the track. I couldn't help it -- I was laughing.

And you're right, AmyLynn. Tomorrow we get to see what this much heralded COT can really do. Are you secretly hoping it falls apart by the middle of the race? They have given it so much hype, but the pictures I've seen are fug-ugly. From what I've read there are two "camps" among the drivers. Some like it. Another group really hates it. And I guess there are some who are reserving judgment.

As of tomorrow, I think the season begins to shape up. Fun, fun, fun!

Where are all the NASCAR fans? Come on people -- the Chase is on! Incidentally, what do you-all think of this "car of tomorrow"? And what about the lack of consistency in applying rules & sanctions this season? Am I the only one who gets worked up about this? Well, they're all winners in my estimation, but the next 10 races should be good.

I'm not sure of the COT yet. They do seem to be safer for the driver. And Nascar has never been fair with who gets sanctions and fined.
My Bf loves the COT cars but he is allso a Hendricks fan, they seem to be domanting those races..
