My Wedding Pics - 4/1/06 [Archive]

Well, we did it!! :yay: OMG I can't even tell you how happy I am right now... despite the circumstances, it really was the best day of my life! :D

For those following my posts, I didn't end up even buying the dress cuz it was just gonna be too much hassle and I wasn't even sure if I'd get through the metal detectors. :( So I just ended up wearing this suit thing that I had (see pics below ;) )...

The actual ceremony was really quick and simple, which is exactly what I wanted. :yes: He told me afterwards that his knees were shaking the whole time cuz he was so nervous.. aww :rolleyes: heheh... but anyways, it was beautiful! I'm really upset that they didn't take pictures of the actual ceremony, but that's okay...

They actually kicked us out of the visit 3 hours early due to overcrowding. :mad: :cry: I still can't believe they kicked us out after watching us get married and knowing that I traveled over 400 miles to get there, but whatever.

I'm just so happy that we finally did it after talking about it for SOO long!!! It still hasn't really sunk in yet... all I know is that I am a HAPPY woman right now. :D :yay: :clap: :blush: :D

I just wanted to say thanks again to everyone who's supported me the past few months... I love you guys and wish you all could've been there!!!! :thumbsup: :grouphug:

There has never been such a wave of terminations at the prisons like this, which means only one thing -- things are getting worse out here because more people are putting theirselves in situations where turning to crime is their bright idea. :idea: It's like so many men are getting locked up that the visit rooms can no longer hold all of the visitors. Where my husband is, come 11:00, both visit rooms are filled and the c.o. is walking around with the termination list. So I can believe they kicked yall out, and it is too bad. But at least yall were able to get your wedding on FIRST!! :p Yeah, I also believe homeboy's knees were shaking!! :D Congratulations to you both!! :o

Yeah, it was insanely crowded this weekend and the last time I went (they kicked us out early then too). I got there around 6:02am, signed in, and THREE buses rolled up around 6:08am. So if I had gotten there after the buses, I probably would've missed the wedding. So it was kind of a lose-lose situation but oh well! And I understand that policy is policy (first to come, first to leave), but I was amazed that they didn't have the decency to make ONE exception on my freaking WEDDING DAY, you know? But hey, that's the NYS DOC for ya...:rolleyes:

Unfortunately, his prison doesn't have family visits and due to his disciplinary record, he can't put in for a transfer until January 2008. :( I remember a while ago I had debated whether or not I'd apply for trailers if we could have them... now I wonder what the hell I was thinking cuz if we get them, I'm THERE!! LOL :D

We all can appreciate the beauty of love with someone behind bars. Most people look at us, like why in the hell would we waste our time, but what they don't know is how real our love is for these guys. Alright... well, you said you wanted details.. so, here you go! (Be careful what you wish for!) :p

Both my Mom and Stepdad were at the ceremony. My Stepdad wasn't so thrilled about being there, but at least he went. My Mom was crying the whole time. :rolleyes:

We got into the visiting room around 8 AM, but the ceremony didn't start until about 10 AM, so we had a while to just sit there and talk and play cards and stuff (him and my Stepdad actually got along for a little while, which was a pleasant surprise!)

They did the ceremony in a small room connected to the visiting room (everyone in the visiting room could still see what was going on because the walls were glass). But I was so nervous and happy that I literally didn't notice anyone but him during the ceremony. :o

The ceremony went by sooo fast, I didn't even hear half of what the woman was saying (apparently neither did he LOL). All I remember is right after she said, "I now pronounce you husband and wife," she didn't even have time to say anything else before he kissed me (like 8 times :rolleyes: :D :p )

A couple of his boys congratulated us afterwards, which was cute. My parents stayed behind to talk to the justice of peace so we could have a few minutes to ourselves. He was so cute, he kept kissing my ring and just staring at me and smiling. Then my parents left and we just kinda sat there and acted like fools in love :rolleyes: .

When they announced that they were gonna cut our visit short, we both got really upset (he almost cried), but I asked him to cheer up so we could at least make the most of the last few minutes we had together that day.

They weren't even gonna let us stay for pictures, and I almost threw a shit fit, but then they said we could stand in the front of the room and wait for the picture guy to come. So we stood there for like 15 minutes, just hugging and holding each other, which was actually really nice because it's been a long time since I've been able to hold him like that for more than 30 seconds.

Then we took pictures and it was time to leave. Surprisingly, I didn't even cry. I was (still am) just sooo happy and in shock that nothin' was about to bring me down. Unfortunately, the phones were backed up that night so he couldn't call, and I didn't talk to him again until Monday, which was hard, but not half as bad as I thought it would be.

These past few days I've still been somewhere on Cloud 9 and it's only just starting to sink in I think... overall, I am a VERY happy woman and sooo proud to be his wife. Now I'm just waiting for them to mail me the marriage license so I can get my name changed legally and do all that fun stuff. :D :thumbsup:
