Fresno County has four jail facilities. All facilities are have the same inmate mailing address and contact numbers. For directions to the Fresno County Jail- Main, North, South, or Satellite annex, visit MapQuest (http://www.mapquest.com). The physical addresses for each facility are listed below. You will also find information on inmate visiting, mail, etc. in this thread. :thumbsup:

Fresno County Jail- Main
1225 "M" Street
Fresno, CA. 93721
Opened in 1989, the Main Jail is a 12-story facility with 6 Floors; maximum population 1064. The Main Jail facility primarily houses medium and maximum security inmates. The Main Jail's security is based on a system of security perimeters making escape extremely difficult

Fresno County Jail- North Annex
1265 "M" Street
Fresno, CA. 93721
Built in 1993, the North Annex Jail is a 5-story facility with 4 floors; maximum population 1728. The newest of the facilities and built on the same security concepts as the Main Jail, but utilizing the latest electronic technology.

Fresno County Jail- South Annex
2280 Fresno Street
Fresno, CA. 93721
Built in 1947, the South Annex Jail consists of 4 floors; maximum population 675. It is the oldest of the facilities and probably the toughest. This facility uses security perimeters and 1/4" case hardened steel to retain its inmates.

Fresno County Jail- Satellite
110 "M" Street
Fresno, CA. 93721
Built in 1986, the Satellite Facility is comprised of 4 modular units; maximum population 200. The lowest level of security within the .Detention Bureau. These inmates are all sentenced to county time and are assigned to various work crews, such as road clean up, gardening, etc.

:) Visiting Information
Saturday through Friday
9am-9pm
Visiting for inmates is held in all facilities every day from 9am to 9pm, however visiting signups end at 8:15 pm, and no visits will be signed up after that time. The visiting week schedule is from Saturday through Friday. Each inmate is allowed two, half-hour visits per week. Inmates may place up to three names on their visiting list and inmates may change these names at any time. Anyone wishing to visit an inmate must have their name on the inmate’s visiting list, and must be at least 18 years old. Children of an inmate who are under 18 do not need to be on the visiting list, but must be accompanied by an adult whose name is on the visiting list. All visitors must be able to present valid identification upon request by jail staff. Attorneys are required to remain with their inmate/client until officers return the inmate to their jail housing unit.
:) Inmate Money Information
Anyone wishing to place money on an inmate’s account may do so by bringing a U.S. Postal Money Order, made payable in their name, to the Main Jail Lobby located at 1225 “M” Street. You may also mail the Money Order to the Fresno County Jail, P.O. Box 872, Fresno, California, 93712. Please ensure you use the inmate’s correct name they are booked under, and include the inmate’s date of birth and booking number if you know it. Personal checks, cashier's checks, cash, credit cards and money orders that were not purchased at a U.S. Post Office are not accepted and will be returned to the sender.

Please address mail with the inmate’s name as they are booked. It is also helpful to add the inmate’s date of birth and booking number if you know it. There is no limit to the amount of mail that an inmate may send or receive. All mail is inspected for contraband, and will be returned to sender if it includes anything not allowed. Items NOT allowed in mail to inmates include any sexually explicit material or photographs, postage stamps, stickers, or any item that is illegal or would cause a security risk. Photographs are allowed, however may not be a Polaroid photograph. Legally blind individuals may send and receive first-class mail through the U.S. Postal Service at no cost.
