What and how do you deal with the staff while your loved one is in prison? I am treated like scum when I try to get any information. When I was bale to visit him I was treated worse. Are there any ways to deal with these staff people that seem to judge?

I treat everyone - even the rude ones with respect. When they refuse to help me or treat me rudely, I get their name and ask for their supervisor. When I speak to the next person, I explain that I have asked these questions and the first person was unable to HELP me. Ask "since you are unable to answer my questions, could you please direct me to the person who CAN."

Staying calm, continuing to smile and not getting frustrated on the OUTSIDE is the key to their doom.

I have just continued to go up the chain of command until I got my answers..........all while smiling and being calm. I also calmly tell each person that those below them have been very unhelpful and rude to me.

Then when I go home, I write all their names on a box. Put on my steel toed boots and kick the living daylights out of them.

I do what Mrs said as far as asking for the next in command etc... then I also send an anonymous card to DOC in Lansing explaining what happened and the guard's name if it was really bad..... I send it from another town and make sure not to put the time etc... so it can't come back on us...

Wow that is a good outlet to deal with them. Im sure that not everyone is that way, just the ones that answer the phone or deal with me.

I did not realize that any complaint would come back to haunt him. Thats a good idea. I will have to remember that so I never get him in trouble.
