I feel like I just stepped out of the twilight zone. I went on my first visit at C-74... It was the complete opposite from what I am used to in GRVC! First of all, the building is so close to the main building! I was IN the visit floor within 30 minutes of registering in the main building... Then they hardly search us... On the visit floor, they let us hug and kiss... I am so used to hearing "SIT BACK IN YOUR CHAIR!" Here they hardly watch us! Plus the visit floor was filled with a bunch of little kids... I'm talking about the inmates... they were like 15, 16, etc... (It's an adolecent jail but when you're sentenced they send you there). The good part is that we got a lot of extra time (we had a 2 hour visit!). There are so many things that were so weird that I can't even explain them... That jail is soooooo laid back and so unsecure... If anything, I didn't feel as safe as in GRVC. My husband said that when he left the visit floor they didn't even search him! Usually he would have been strip searched! It was just very strange... They have like no security in that building. Anyway, just thought I'd share my experiences. :)

My man was in C-74 before being transferred to Ulster. You described the visit perfectly! Scott was in OBCC before C-74, and there was such a security difference. C-74 is more laid back but it is also a lot dirtier. OBCC might have been more strict but it was cleaner looking. Scott also hated being around all of those little kids. Anyway, thanks for sharing!

My husband says the same thing about it being so dirty! He can't wait to get out of there! LOL

I know! I had the same experience as well. My man was in GRVC first and then sent to C-74 after he was sentenced. I think some of it has to do with the GRVC houses the "worst" inmates, so they are really strict there and then C&$ has the adolescents and adults who are just waiting to go upstate, so the CO feel that they can just relax. Anyway, no matter which jail you are at, it sucks!

Yea, I used to visit the "3" building, the "beacon" building, the OBCC building and C74 has been the most pleasant out of them all. It's good though because they understand the hardship of the visitor and they don't treat you like inmates, :thumbsup:

Yea my man was in c-95 and then sent to c-74.... Ur rite it is more laid back. I liked c-95 (amkc) way better tho. Now my man is at lakeview and honestly it sux ciz I was so use to my weekly visits and now its harder cuz he's like 7 hours away

I LIKE GMDC (C-73) BETTER BECAUSE SOMETIMES THEY GIVE YOU AN HOUR AND A HALF VISIT. AND THE SEARCH PROCESS IS MUCH EASIER. MY MAN WAS IN THE BEACON FIRST BUT THEY TRANSFERRED HIM TO C-73. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS WAITING FOR THE BUS TO TAKE YOU TO THE JAIL FACILITIES.

My man was in C74 and I liked it dere...lolz...nobodi fuked wit me I knew all da CO's...and so did he...dey knew he was my man....da main point dat i became so popular dere was cuz i was pregnant at da time and i was dere at every visit i never missed a visit....im loyal 2 my man:D but dey r definitely real chill dere....if u dont fu* wit dem...u fu* wit dem dey fu* wit u n ur man daz how dey do in C74...

Yea I heard, I'm going there to visit my boyfriend 2morrow. He said his friends in there said it's so laid back that people be having sex and the security doesn't even see them!!
