This Thursday, the youngest child ever prosecuted for murder in San Luis Obispo County will be sentenced.

There's a good chance he'll be sent to the California Youth Authority, now called the Division of Juvenile Justice, but his attorneys say they will object, preferring a Boys Group Home.

Nearly six weeks ago, a judge found a 14-year-old San Luis Obispo boy guilty of murdering an elderly man with a skateboard to steal his SUV.

The boy's attorney immediately voiced her concerns over locking him up in one of the state's sometimes violent juvenile prisons.

"He understands that the real goal has always been finding a placement for him that's not the California Youth Authority, because we believe that that place will be very destructive for him, and then when he does get out we'll have another tragedy," says defense attorney Teresa Klein.
