View Full Version : Hi everyone
Mochahontas 05-31-2002, 11:07 AM thanks to everyone who saw my post and replied to it. i wanted to e mail each of you indiviually, but since I'm at work, that wouldn't taken forever and I wouldn't have a job! SOOOOOOO,Thanks to each of you. i really do appreciate it. Its nice to know that Im not alone in this. Its funny because you all feel more like a family to me than my real family.I did want to say that my fiance(who's name is Erskine, by the way) should be out of recieving by Monday or Tuesday, So all i can do really is wait. But I am anticipating that call more than anything! I wrote him last Saturday, which means he probably got it either yesterday or today. i wasn' sure if I could send him actual pictures, so I just scanned some of me and the baby on paper and wrote my letter on it. i thought that would be a good way of going about it until I find out whether he can actually get pictures, because someone told me he couldn't. kinda sad that while Im out here worrying about him, I know that he's spending his time worrying about me, and it's so stressful for both of us. The only reason that he's so worried about me is that he knows that Im not used to being alone and that he's always been my shelter, and with him being locked up, he thinks that Im some kind of fox surrounded by a pack of wolves or something, and I try to tell him that I'll be okay, but since I worry about him the same way, and he tells me the same thing, I really cant blame him. Oh well. But i really do think that Im going to be alright. I m kinda glad that we have this time apart. So at least now I will be able to say that I know what it feels like to be without him, at least for a while anyway. And I do believe that this whole ordeal will make us both stronger and be able to grow up a little bit before we take that jump over the broom. Which in the long run, will make our love and marriage be strong. So once again, thank you all, and I hope to hear from you soon.
DJohnson 05-31-2002, 11:29 AM Mocha...
You are on the right path there in knowing that what is happening right now will in the long run make your love & marriage not to mention you both stronger people!!
What's that old saying..."Absence makes the heart grow fonder." I may have something screwed up on that though..haa haa!!
I am happy to hear that Erskine will be out of recieving soon. I am not sure about SC, but he may have to put your phone # on his call list & if you want to visit w/him he may have to put you on a visiting list as well. So when he does get transferred it may take just a little bit for him to get settled & then be able to call you. I know you can't wait for that call....
Take care!
Mochahontas 06-03-2002, 07:11 AM Hi everyone! I got a letter from erskine Saturday. I was sooooooo happy!!! He told me I could send him pictures, just no more than 8. Im glad. He said that he's waiting on a PIN number so that he can start calling me. He has been in there 2 weeks today, seems like 2 years to me. I try not to complain though, because if it seems that long to me, I can imagine how it seems to him. He said that someone stole his envelopes. Does anyone know if I can send him one iniside the one with my letter in it?? I want to, but I don't want to get him in trouble by sending him a stupid envelope.
Fed-X 06-03-2002, 07:17 AM Most prisons don't allow it but some do. What prison system are you in, federal or state?
Sexesweet 06-03-2002, 07:29 AM no they have to get them himself when he goes to conversary.
aprilcat 06-03-2002, 07:32 AM mocha....go to www.myscgov.com. click on "public safety" and from there, you can go to the list of institutions. call the facility and ask. i think it really varies from fed to state to state and security level...
soraya 06-03-2002, 07:43 AM I believe that's the best to do, to ask the prison to get a copy of the rules, because every prison has it's own rules. your husband should also have a copy of the rules
CREAMYALMONDZ 06-03-2002, 08:22 AM I read a document on the DOC website about inmate mail and it says that you can't send envelopes to inmates. If the envelope is thick then they will open it and inspect it. He probably won't get the envelopes. I wouldn't risk it he just may have to buy envelopes from comissary.
Sexesweet 06-03-2002, 10:45 AM that is true
jdswifey02 06-03-2002, 03:45 PM here in the IL state system, we can't send inmates envelopes and they buy the envelopes from commissary that already have the postage on them.... if they were stolen, I would guess it may be the same way where your man is, because they have some monetary value.... definitely check and see what the rules are before you send him stuff... :)
danielle 06-03-2002, 05:35 PM I am glad you got a letter and soon that phone call will sound like music! Good luck!
Shortie 06-03-2002, 08:10 PM congrats on the letter, make sure you tell him to put his stuff up cus they will take it. sorry to hear that he lost all his envelopes. call the prison and get the do's and don'ts that is always the best way .
CREAMYALMONDZ 06-05-2002, 09:26 AM You are welcome Moca we are going through the same things. Later on like sometime next year I think there should be a PTO 'Renunion', getting everybody together and doing a little cookout or a cruise or something. You are welcome again Moca.
The only time I can get on is at work to so we'll get in trouble together. ;-)
Just make sure you delete your temp files and history! LOL
