Hi everyone I just wanted to share my experience with everyone. I flew up to Reno for the weekend so that I could go visit my husband for the two days! The first day our visit was perfect when he first came out and saw me he got this huge smile on his face:D When he hugged me he was shaking, I asked him what was wrong and he said he was nervous:D Then we held hands the whole time!!!!! Sunday was perfect also but it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooo hard to say goodbye. It was like saying goodbye all over again like the first day he went in:( I did cry in the end but he just kept telling me to be strong for him he kind of got teary eyed but he held it in. We got in trouble at the end because this couple in front of us got up and gave each other a hug so my in laws got up and gave my husband a hug saying goodbye, then the officer yells at us that visiting isn't over yet and it's not time for hugging and kissing:angry: I got so mad, he asked my husband his name and the guy in front of us to, he didn't tell them anything else, does anyone know what they might do to him? He said he will probably just get a warning but I don't know?

Thats great!! I'm happy for you! It's VERY hard to leave...& i only had a visit behind glass! But just keep your head up & it will be ok :) I'm not sure what will happen...probably just a warning.

I am happy that your visit went good.
I dont understand, where your inlaws leaving and telling him goodby? Are you not allowed to leave at any time? I understand that you are only allowed to kiss and hug upon arrival and leaving but why would they get upset if they where saying goodby.
I am interested because we are planning on a trip at easter and my husband can never stay the whole time, he always leaves before me.

Well the gates open up every half hour for those who want to leave early, then they do a last call at about 1:15pm for those who want to leave and if you don't leave at that time you have to stay until 2:30pm. But what happened with us was that it was about 2:27pm and I guess you can't say goodbye until you get the okay:confused: Which is really stuipd if you ask me:blah: They were saying goodbye for two reasons 1. They saw the people in front of us say goodbye so they figured visiting was over and 2. They wanted to leave me and him alone to say goodbye

Sanchez,
Thanks, I will have to remember that so he (my husband) can make his exit.that is if he gets his approval by then. I have mine but he has a past in "the system" and has not been approved yet.
I think he is going to go fishing while I visit.
He said he was going to take his fishing pole.
I am excited also to make the trip and see my son.
No matter how old they get they will always be your child.
I have not been able to hug and kiss him for going on 3 years now.
Thanks again for the information.

Thanks Sanchez. I'm visiting my man at HDSP this weekend, but your experience kind of familiarizes me with what it will be like. I would probably make the same mistake because I'm unfamiliar with this whole prison thing. I'm visiting him at HDSP for the first time.

I wish everyone the best of luck with their visits. I can't wait to hear how it all goes. Oh another thing of advice GET THERE EARLY if you want to visit the whole time. On both days I got there right at 8:00 and didn't get into processing until like 8:45 then by the time we went through the medal detector and got on the bus to go to the visiting room it was like 9:20, then by the time he came out it was like 10:00 so get their early!!!!!! Now it is time to wait for the family visiting approval!!!! I just sent out the certificate yesterday so we'll see how long it takes, everyone keep your fingers crossed for me:thumbsup:

JERRYSMOM,
I am so excited for you finally getting to hold your son after 3 years WOW!!!!!! I hope everything goes well at your visit and come back and tell us all about it!!!!

Sanchez, glad you had a good visit. He most likely got a warning they can be anal. One time i went to visit my sister boyfriend and he came out late from lack of them trying to find him. They had the nerve to ask do i know where he was and i was like prison but when he did came out they asked him what took him so long and he said he never heard his name and co told him this is your warning.. Its all crap, they are in control and feel like doing what they want.. Next time you go you'll notice that people hug and kiss through out the visit.... you will get your visit for family one too....

Yeah the first day was great because we sat in the back and we were not bothered at all, we even would lean on each others shoulders and didn't get yelled at. But the second day was like if they were in a bad mood or something. And yes I agree with you that they do feel in control because they know damn well that if they were not in those ugly iniforms the guys in there would take flighton them in a split second:p But my husband says that there are some nice CO's because they understand were the inmates are coming from. And yeah I really hope we get our family visit soon, I don't see any reason why we shouldn't get approved.

For those of you wanting to visit at CCC here is a little information. The other ladies start lining up at the Rail Road tracks around 5 AM. They take 10 people at a time on each bus, and that includes kids. Each person is givin a slip to fill out and turn in to the visitors station, then you still have to wait and go through the medal detectors and stuff. The van ride takes less than 2 minutes on the road...lol but anyways. Then they tell you to sign in at the next officer station and then process you through to whatever room it is you will be visiting in. Then they bring them in, I was lucky, mine was in the 1st set but I watched a few girls wait to see their loved ones till 3rd or 4th set and I was in the 1st group of 10 to go in. Just some food for thought... GET THERE EARLY!!!
