I got to visit at about 6:45 am, that car line was long I was into the visiting room in by 8:40 but it was so crowded that they began terminating visits at 11:00 am!

I was asked to leave at 11:30, I think its crazy that I woke up hell of early to get a 3 hour visit. The bad part was there were ppl in the yard lobby waiting for other visits to terminate. Then once I was at the gate, the line was all the way outside. I asked if there were planning on implemeting a better system and the said not that they know of. I will be writing to the warden an visiting Ltn. be/c this is crazy. Did anyone else experience this on their yard?

Just curious which yard you visit? Are they all this nuts? My hubby is on B yard and I haven't been able to visit yet - too far away. I would hate to drive 500 miles and get terminated.

I visited today. I arrived at 715, and was about the 30th car in line. I received slip #51 and was on yard A at 910. Whicjh I think is pretty good. Our visit was terminated, at about 140. They started to terminate visits on our yard around 1200. We didnt complain, as we know the rule, first in first out.

If you travel more than 250 miles and you haven't visited in the last 30 days they cannot terminate your visit. Either on Saturday or Sunday. The rule applies for both days. So don't worry your safe. This is a rule from the Title 15. So get there early hun so you can take advantage of the long visits.:thumbsup:

i didnt get to go this weekend and really ahve been wondering the best way to go about it; get up early and hope to get in early or show up about 10 am and hope to get in quicker; the last time i got there by 8 i think and didnt get in until 11. so our visits have never been longer than 3 hours; all three times i have been so far and it just keeps getting worse. they have SO many people on our yard (D) and those rooms are way too small! what were they thinking when they designed them?

so im not sure yet how early to get there saturday. i think this sucks

I think its best to go early, but not be one of the first in line. Yesterday was the first time we were terminated due to the visiting room being at max capacity. And I usually get slip 50 something and am in the visiting room by no later than 915. We just missed not getting terminated by like 3 couples, yesterday. i hate getting up early hahaha . . . . this weekend im going to be spending friday night in bakersfield so i should be alright if i sleep in until about 6 then go out. . . what time do you usually get in line? i dont want to be one of the first ones, i just dont want to stand outside for 4 hours either

Well I know the rules also and the problem was the CO didnt go in order of arrival. I visit every week regardless of the miles, I knew as soon as I heard the CO asking for tables we would have to leave.
Hey same thing I say why are the rooms so small, 32 tables in all, thats 32 inmates...I asked my hubby and how many inmates are on your yard? They made them small be/c its a level 4 and level 4's dont get that many visits, what they didnt count on was
1) that most of the guys are SHU kickouts and havent touched their family members in along time , HELLO their is goona be alot of visitors.
2) It is fairly close to Los Angeles and people will visit more often, the closer it is to LA or SAC ppl will visit more often.

Another thing is they are just finshed processing alot of inmates and family members want to visit, give to some time and it will die down. Only the regular visitors will be their every week. Meanwhile we have to suffer, getting visits terminated, and it doesnt matter if I visit every weekend and how many miles I drove, it isnt around the corner, to wake up early, spend money on gas and sometimes even motel it isnt right.

good points. its funny cuz my man tried to get transferred there when they first opened it up and they said no cuz he hadnt been 3 years without going to the hole; then when they opened up this yard, they let him go but hes been trouble free for a couple years now. . . .

its true that the closer to LA the more people will come cuz its easier on us to get there and more affordable. but like you said so many of them are just now classifiying and alot of them probably didnt get visits where they were if they were farther from their families so yeah right now it is bad. but still come on. 32 tables? level 4 or not, that is insane when you think of how many buildings are on each yard and how many inmates in each yeard. good god.

so yeah us that go every week (ok so i havent made it each week yet but most of the time i am there 3 weekends a month) suffer because they have no proceudre in place; one co calls numbers, one calls names in whatever order they grab the slip from the box. its totally insane over there and honestly im so not looking foreard to going this weekend. as much as i love my time with him, the stress of actully getting in there is insane.

i havent had a problem getting terminated because i havent made it into the room, or i did but he didnt one time, until at least 1100 or 1130 :O it sucks to get up at the crack of dawn and still not see him for hours then only have 2 or 3 hours to see them. . . most of us drive longer than we get to see them!
