I'm hearing alot from the anti-death penalty people about "better kill the executiner's"

The real executioner's are the 12 Jury members who have to decide unanimously to give the death penalty!!!!!

Fact = it's not the state. It is Texans who want the death penalty.

However, you people always blame the system not the average citizen who decides life or death.

it only takes 1 person out of 12 for the death penalty not to be given.

You're right it is up to the people, but the public has been brain washed into believing the justice system is fair and just which it isn not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is also the system that allows the Death Penalty to be an option. If the system would rule that the Death Penalty was unconstitutional, immoral and wrong...then the jurors would have the that choice to make.

" It is also the system that allows the Death Penalty to be an option."

We are the system!!! the Voters decide what we want.

I admire your stance but I feel you are wasting your time fighting the Govt/TDCJ. The people are the power. Change their minds and you can change the law.

Just think of all 400+ on death row. There were 4800 Jurors who had to decide Death or Life.

Change their minds or just 1 of them and you will win.

Your numbers do make a point (400/4800)

It's kinda hard to get to 1 of 12 when you don't know who those people are until there unreachable.

So it still dealing with the "the general public". It take a MASSIVE out pouring even to get the governments attention, let alone changing anything even if it's wrong.

Look what it took, for the Blacks to get the freedom they have today. And even today, it's not total freedom in some areas of this country or with some people in this country!

I AGREE THE PEOPLE ARE THE POWER. IT TAKES A MASS UNIFIED EFFORT TO MAKE ANY SUBSTANTIAL CHANGES, ESPECIALLY IF IT IS AN UNPOPULAR OR UNCOMFORTABLE SUBJECT

HOWEVER, NO ONE TWISTED THE EXCUTIONER'S ARM TO HAVE THE JOB HE DOES-IT IS A PERSONAL CHOICE HE HAS MADE-THAT IT IS OKAY FOR HIM TO KILL PEOPLE- SO AN INDIVIDUAL CAN NOT BE EXCUSED BECAUSE THE "PEOPLE ARE THE SYSTEM" --ANYONE CAN STAND UP TO THE SYSTEM, OR WHAT IS ACCEPTED AS THE NORM, OKAY BY SOCIETY- IT ALL STARTS WITH ONE PERSON AND THEN GROWS. THE EXECUTIONER IS PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS ROLE JUST AS EACH JUROR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS OR HER VOTE. JUST AS YOU AND I ARE RESPONSIBLE IF WE CHOOSE TO LET WRONGS GO UNCHALLENGED.

Amen Sherri..... Also, didn't the "people" speak out with Napoleon Beazley? Didn't the "system" not listen?
