Hey ladies! I just had a really quick question and I really hope someone knows the answer! ;) I have been looking for an apartment for myself and my fiance. A lot of the apartments around here are doing criminal background checks also instead of just credit checks. Anyways, now my question  ....what will appear when someone runs a baisc criminal background check on someone who was military and court-martialed? I've heard that since its a military criminal record, it isn't that easy to pull up. I'm not sure though....someone please have the answer!! :D

I have the same question, about when he gets out as far as finding employment... he is supposed to have a job when he goes before the parole board as well.... and I have sent him the address of a "work force center" who helps with finding work.... they could not tell me one way or another if it shows up... if I find anymore information I will be sure to post it here :)

Hey girl!! My fiance goes to his parole board next week and for his employment he has a letter from a job assistance program here in NC where he is going to be living. Since you are his wife, you could find a local Employment Security Comission office and explain to them your situation and ask about the job assistance programs they offer. I had to write a letter to the job assistance program on his behalf and they then mailed him a letter stating that he has job assistance upon his release. For parole, either a guranteed job or proof of job assistance is acceptable. Either one works. Hope I helped you out some! Take care girl!

Mas, I doubt the military record will appear if a regular local (state) background check is run. However, if they run it through NCIC (National Crime Information Computer) it may show up. I doubt a property management company would go to the expense of running NCIC's on every prospective tenant, so you probably don't have anything to worry about.

When I run a CCH (computerized criminal history) on someone it is pretty hit or miss as to if military charges show up. In my experience, it generally seems like if they were released on their charge after around 1992 or 1993 then there is a much higher chance of it showing up on the rap sheet.
