You can send him 20 already stamped envelopes you can buy at the postoffice. and up to 150 sheets of note book paper.
I sent my man that just a month ago. I called up there and asked the mail room. I live in Michigan and he's there in NY at Rikers.
Hope this helps you:thumbsup:

you can also send stamps. i bought a sheet (10) of stamps and sent them to my fiancee. i called ahead & spoke to a CO and she said they could receive stamps in the mail.

by the way, you can also send him money in the mail (via money order), although it takes about 2 weeks to clear. just a thought.

Thanks everyone for helping me out. I'll even try and send him money for next month and see how that works, and on Tuesday I'm going to call and find out what building he's in.

since you're in brooklyn, you might want to just go & visit him. you can also put money on his account as soon as you get there. all you need is his ID (or book & case number). it's better than sending it through the mail because he will have access to it right away.

good luck!

Hey it's me again. I live in New York (Brooklyn) I mailed my letter on Wednesday and I haven't received a response, so I was juss wondering how long will it take before the letter arrives to the inmate at Rikers. Thanks again for helping me :D

Well, its usually takes two days for my boyfriend to receive his mail (he's in Rikers' too). So if you mailed your letter on Wednesday he probably received it Friday or Saturday. Give him sometime though sometimes the mailroom is backed up and mail is slow.

yeah, i would say 2 days. i live in CA and my fiancee is in Rikers. i send all of his mail Priority Mail (2 days), and he receives it within 2 to 3 days. So if you mail it from Bklyn, it will reach Rikers the next day and he may get it that day or the next.

My mail gets to him within 2 days too... If it's metered mail (like from my job) it takes 1 day (he gets it the next day)

My Bf Is Allowed 2 Visits Per Week, If No One Visited Him Throughout The Week Can He Be Allowed 2 Visits In A Day. For Example I'll Go @ 9am And His Mom Go @ 12pm In The Same Day?

Is he at Rikers? If he is then he is allowed 3 visits a week usually... 1 evening visit on his day during the week (either Wed. or Thurs.) and everyone can go on Friday, and one on his assigned day during the weekend (This weekend A-L was yesterday and today is M-Z). I know many people that go visit 3 times a week. I can't go on Fridays so I go 2 times a week.

They are only allowed 1 visit per day though. If someone goes in the morning the other will not be allowed in, they'll be told he already had a visit and won't even get passed the main building.

Don't take the mail time frame too seriously. The Cos haven't been giving my man his mail all week and I send something every day.

visits are 3 times a week for non-sentenced inmates and 2 times a week for sentenced inmates... i have found that postal money orders and western union money orders get processed faster... as far a s stamps go each building has different rules.. some allow a half sheet of stamps or a full sheet... some prefer the stamped envelopes from the post office.. call first.. but as always if you mail it it might get through the mailroom even if it wasn't allowed on a visit package... the best way i have founf to get through to riker's is by calling 311 and asking for the building visit captain.. someone always picks up the phones when 311 puts you through to rikers:D

i know when i did send one of my EX boyfriend/friend who was there before i met mi papito my man daniel that he did not get his stuff for 2 long weeks, then i find out all i had to do was go right to rikers and add/drop off the money then he would have got in in a day or so....

but i am not sure about the stamps. did not think they can receive them but that is really great some prison facilities allow you to do that...:)
