Key to solving crisis, French minister says Douste-Blazy has close ties to Canada

OTTAWA—The only solution to the crisis in Afghanistan is the destruction of the drug production that flourishes there, French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy said yesterday.
"I will tell you that profoundly I think that the problem of Afghanistan will only be settled if we, the international community, are able" (to act), Douste-Blazy told a group of reporters yesterday.
