I was going through my family files and was looking through my father's family's folder. I found a letter that was sent to me on June 9th, 2000 from then Superintendent Donald Vaughn on Graterford letterhead. I had spoken directly to him asking for any information that they had on my deceased father and he sent me an Inmate Records System Summary Inquiry sheet. I knew practically nothing about him before that.
It's just pretty ironic that I've been in touch with these very same people before about my father and now my husband is in the very same place that my father died in. My husband comes across people that knew my father and my husband tells me about the couple stories that he hears.
My father was in Dallas, Holmesburg & Graterford between the early 70's and 1988 when he died. So you know my husband has to be coming across some old heads.
