I was wondering if anyone out there can give me any inforamtion on how IRONWOOD STATE prison visiting staff and rules. Do I need to call to see if I can go up to visit. During this time of year is it hot? My babies daddy is on the B YARD and I'm planning to see if anyone in ORANGE COUNTY or L.A. has interest in carpooling I have a vehicle (YUKON) and I want to split the cost on fuel and also stay up in a HOTEL/MOTEL and make it all worth the drive and time.

jUST KNOWING THAT MY KIDS HAVE NOT SEEN THEIR DAD IN 2YRS. makes me really happy to know now we can go up to see him. Also doe sany one out there know about this prepaid collection calls where you pay for your man to call you from the prison and they forward your calls to your cell phone or home # if you cannot accept collect calls they will forward the call like 3-way? well my man is in Ironwood and YES it is hot in the summer time. The there is ok I had a few problems when i first started to visit but if you just follow the rules then you will be fine. Some of the CO are cool so are not but like i said just follow the rules and you have no trouble. About the prepaid card I don't think they have those I have never heard of the there. I know in county you can but I pretty sure they don't have them there but i could be wrong I travel from San Diego it is about a 2 1/2 - 3 hour drive from here. My man is also on the B yard.. Are the visits long? bEING THAT YOU SAY ITS HOT what is the dress code and what do they have as rules with families with kids are they pretty easy with having an area for the kids to play, What would you advise me to wear both the kids and I? I mean if you can let me know all that I need to know. mY DRIVE FROM SANTA ANA will be 41/2 hours . I need to call the chamber of commerce for that city and ask for the nearest hotel or motel. What are the days for visiting for the B YARD my babes is in the B yard too. Have they been on lock down at all lately? When can he call home? What is the max of visitorsd. OH yeaah and what can we bring to chow down with him?:confused:

:) hello linda before you go to visit you to first be approved this is when the white approval slip is sent by your boyfriend to you and you fill it out and send it to the visiting office.If you have already gone through that procedure and was told by your man that you were approved then your free to visit sat/sun from nine untilvisiting is over at 3 oclock.yes it is very hot but they dont allow any strapless or tank top shirts or jeans of any type if i was you i would wear a nice short sleeve button down shirt cause they dont allow cleavage to show and some nice cotton pants or either a longskirt cant be more than 2inces above the knees no wire bra nothing see threw no light blue shirts no green or army fatigue.You could call the prison for more info as for as money 30 or 40 dollars in one dollar bills or quarters only in a clear bag yourbabys bag must be clear to no food allowed you have to wait untill you get inside they have vending machines.For more info cause there are a few more call1800-374-8474 and as far as the prepaid account call directly to the prison and tell them what you want and they will assist you they will also tell you if they on lockdown.:thumbsup:

As far as for the kids there is not a whole lot for them to do they did just get some new games and stuff and I think they have some big plastic lego things but Just dress your kids cool it gets very hot in that visiting room they do have a patio it is open most of the time but like i said it is hot. There is a motel about 15 min from the prision that is nice i have stayed there one time. You want to make sure you call before going up there because i know that they are on lockdown quiet a bit... Just dress comfertable.
I leave my house at about 330am get there at about 6-630am get in line start handing out visiting passes at around 730am there is a little trailer if you want to freshen up then they start to process at 830 visit start at 900am-3pm

Hey Huera...well I'm In L.a. And Still Waiting To Get Approved But I've Been Trying To Get A Car Pool Cuz Eventhough I Have A Car...my License Is Suspended And They Check Licenses From What I Heard...so Go Ahead And Write Back If Your Interested

In the summer it gets over the 100's. I usually bring a ice cooler and buy ice and water for after the visit. It's an 30 min. drive from the nearest Gas Station.
I dont have promblems at Isp, I go to see my Husband and then go home. If anyone has any questions please feel free to pm me, I have been going since 2001.

I was just up there this wkend and it was HOT like 114* so girls dress it as light as possible... other than that it wasnt that bad considering the holiday. Hope everyones was well as it could be... Keep ur head up!!!

You are right about that mattzbabygirl It was hot this weekend up there. I really thought it was going to be alot more people there because of the Hoilday but it was not bad :)

Hey I Was Wondering If Any One New If The Yards At Ironwood Were Determined By The Level Of Security....like Is The D Yard More Monitored Then Say B Yard...cuz I Know Its Like That At Other Prisons...so If Anyone Knows Please Let Me Know..

can any one tell me what happen to the ironwood web site isp been looking for it and all that comes on is a eye. thats how i would get my up dates from there. i think it been off for some time? they have a news letter that i would read about the prison and what was happen there. so if anyone knows p.m ok thank you ladyies

Just wanted to stop by and introduce myself--I usually post in the lifer forum because my man is a lifer at ISP-B yard. My name is Lauolive and I live in Blythe about 30 minutes from the prison--yes in the middle of nowhere. I'm not visiting yet--drama:mad: --but hopefully it will be worked out real soon. Anyway, just a quick hello to all the ISP ladies!
