The grants program administered by the Marijuana Policy Project has increased its maximum grant (per organization per year) from $50,000 to $60,000, effective immediately. The MPP grants program provides funding for projects that will measurably advance marijuana policy reform in the United States.

Our third and final application deadline this year is September 1. Please see http://www.mpp.org/grants for more information.

Those seeking grants for marijuana policy reform projects might also consider the Fund for Drug Policy Reform, which is administered by the Tides Foundation. The deadline for its 2003 grant cycle for "Promoting Policy Change" is July 15. For more information, please visit
http://www.tidesfoundation.org/drug_policy.cfm .

As part of the expansion of the MPP grants program, we are especially interested in proposals from activists seeking to pass marijuana ballot initiatives or legislation on the local level. Please visit
http://www.mpp.org/grants/local to see our "Request for Proposals" for local marijuana campaigns.

If you are interested in applying for a grant from the MPP grants program, please DO NOT reply to this e-mail or call the MPP office.

Instead, see http://www.mpp.org/grants for our application guidelines.

Sincerely,
