Just found this post! My husband is in Calipatria. The main things they hastle people about are:
No bluejeans
No all white t-shirts (they will write on them with a marker!)
No tight fitting clothes
No skirts above the knee
No khaki green clothes
Only $20 in ones or quarters, no large bills. Get change before you go becausetheir change machine has gone down plenty of times!!
Of course the regular stuff like clear change purse, one key, ID, if a minor goes you must take ORIGINAL birth certificate and if it's not YOUR child, you must have a notorized note from parent saying it's okay for you to bring the child to see the person.
There is an old lady CO who is really strict about the clothes thing so...

You drive in and they give you a slip with a number...you go to the visiting office and wait for your number to be called...you go up and register and they stamp your hand...you go back and wait for your number to be called again...you go up and remove your shoes etc and walk through the metal detector...they check your hand stamp and let you out the door. When you get out of the registration area the "A" & "B" yards are to your left, the "C" & "D" yards are to your right.

People start lining up on the road the night before but I generally try to get there by 5:30 a.m. and take a nap in line. They start letting you drive in around 8:15 a.m.

If you have any other questions, PM me!! =:-D

Well its been a minute since i been up there but i am sure nothing big has changed.I beleive visitng time is from 8:30 to 2:30or 3:30...You MUST be approved to visit him prior to going up there. So ask him to send you the visiting forms..Lunch??? Yeah you have the option of the visiting room tables or out side on the fenced in tables.Saturday and Sunday are the only visiting days and they both seem to be buisy..So your best bet (if your trying to see him both days) would be to maybe go up there Eary..Like Leave on Friday evening and "line up" or "sleep in your car" for a Saturday visit. Because they do line up early on the side of the road to get visits..And then maybe get a room for the Sunday visit. But you still want to be up there early..Hope it helps out...
