I am really serious about loosing weight this year. I mean really serious. I have BS'd about it for like the past 3 years, swearing up and down that I was going to take it off but now I have fianlly done something about it. For Lent I gave up CHOCOLATE and any meat other then poultry and fish. Then I started to go to curves. I think that it appealed to me because it is only 30 minutes and it is right across from my post office so I can go everyday on my lunch. Plus I think the great thing is that my husband is really supportive. He calls when I am going to the gym and I put him on speaker so I can talk to him while doing the work out and he has been giving me a lot of encouragement while I'm doing it. Plus the ladies think its so funny because he'll scream out, "Don't stop now, push harder" randomly throughout the work out and they answer him back.

So has anyone else here done the Curves program and had good results. I see the poster women but I don't know any myself and I was wondering if you Cali ladies have done it and lost weight.

I personally don't go, but my mother has been going for about a year now. She loves it and has lost 30 lbs + and is maintaining! Go for it!:)

Circuit training (what you're doing at Curves) is one of the most effective excercise programs for losing weight--keep going and you will see results! I recommend you try and go at least 4 days a week to make it a habit. Then, once you start getting in shape, add in some more cardio, like nice long walks whenever you can. That combined with watching your calorie intake and you'll be all set!! Keep up the great work! And remember to treat yourself to things to celebrate your committment to yourself and your health!

I go! It is good for me, lost 8". :) Also, reduces my stress, I go after work every day before going home. I get easily bored on the circuit but know it is good for me. :D

Hi,

I've always wanted to try it, but now I'm thinking that I will go for sure, I got a one week trial pass from their website. Is it expensive to join?

We have Curves over here in UK too and although I haven't been,a lot of my work mates go and they are all seeing the benefit of it.

I just bought one of those little step machines and I walk on the spot for an hour twice a day, usually whilst watching TV or talking on the phone.

I joined on 3/22/06 as a buddy and am lazy right now but enjoy it cuz its a good atmosphere. was kinda pricey but its been good for the stress and my man is happy that i'm not doing my usual kickboxing in a co-ed gym like i have for the past 3 years.

Well since 3-1-06 I have lost 11 lbs so it has been working for me. I just have so much to loose that 11 sounds so insignificant right now. It does get kind of boring and the music isn't as fast paced as I'd like but I do enjoy the people there.

Ok well I found a Curves really close to me and I think that I'm going to try it, I smoke so I think that I'll have to kick that habit before I even try. I don't want to end up having a heart attack over there! lol
