My man is at FCI Bennettsville in Bennettsville, South Carolina. I was just wondering if any of you guys have someone in there. And have you had a visit yet? I haven't been able to visit Shawn yet, and I want to know what visits are like. What should I expect? I need to know about dress codes and rules and stuff. I'm going to move this thread to the Federal Forum so that you will get more responses. We all have people in state prisons. (Except for me. My guy is in Yazoo City, MS. I would love to be visiting him at Bennettsville!)

Hey natnatgirl! I have been to Bennettsville to visit my friend several times. Here's how it goes....Get there early the day of visitation, the visits start at 8AM but people start lining up at about 7-7:30. The line will start forming about 7:30-7:45 depending on who the Officer conducting the sign in is, you will be assigned a number based on what position in line you are. You will then sit in the waiting area until your number is called. The officers usually take 5 people back at a time, they my take 10 if it is crowded. The visit area is nice and big. The seating reminds me of the waiting ares at the airport, long lines of chairs connected together. The only tables are at the outside area. If you cannot make it there super early try to make it before 9:30 AM as they do count at 10AM and it will just delay the amount of time that you get to spend with your man. If you have any particular questions let me know. I found that the bes tplace to stay when visiting is in Cheraw, it is about a 10-15 min drive from the prison but it is definitly better then staying IN Bennettsville! There is a Days Inn that is relativly cheap, I paid $38 per night as I found a special online.

My guy was moved to Bennettsville Camp! I have been to see him twice.
