View Full Version : LIVE CHAT - Operational :)
Fed-X 02-26-2002, 08:46 PM **UPDATE**
We now access chat via clicking on the chat link on the top of any page here at PTO.
OK! It has been a while in the making but our live chat has been installed and can be accessed at the following link!
PrisonTalk Online LIVE CHAT FORUM (http://www.prisontalkonline.com/forums/main_chat.php)
http://www.prisontalkonline.com/forums/main_chat.php
The sites templates will be modified very soon to where you can access this directly from the discussion forum menu like you would any other forum. This is only a link for any of you that want to take a peek prior to the official opening.
We are running jPilot chat software. I believe that most people that are entering the chat forum for the first time may see a pop-up window telling you to download or "allow" a jPilot appelet to use the chat. You should only have to do this one time and it runs in your browser like a plug-in. It is seemless and safe. You do not have to setup anything.
Please let me know what ya'll think so far and feel free to ask me any questions that you may have.. Preferably here or in the Feedback section so that others may view them too!
Take care & look forward to seeing everyone there once we setup meeting times!

Fed-X 02-26-2002, 09:04 PM Guess I should have brought this up in the last post.. You must be a registered member to access the live chat forums.
There may be access issues if you have all of your cookies turned off but I could be wrong.. You will need to be logged in either way..
David
P.S. Please let me know if any of you have ANY problems getting in!

Susan Martin 02-27-2002, 03:43 PM It looks pretty good..... when are we going to have our first scheduled chat?
Fed-X 03-10-2002, 03:38 PM Full opperational!
The main interface is now up. When you click on "The PrisonTalkOnline.com Chat Room" you will be taken directly to the PTO Chat room! If it is your first time entering the chat room you will be asked to accept a small applet so that you can interface with the chat program. It is completely safe and requires no maint. on anyones part. :)
I am really excited about this and hope to see everyone in chat! We are scheduling meetings so that we can find each other there rather than being in there alone. You all are free to schedule whatever chat times suit you and others. It is open 24-7, 365 days a year.. :)
David
Very interesting... and I think you did a fine job on this David. I hope to be able to make it in on the first nite. It should prove interesting to see how this takes off.

Jonathan 10-29-2005, 11:24 PM Shawni,
Although you have been a member of PTO since January 2005, you must now also have 25 valid posts. The full policy can be found at: http://prisontalk.com/forums/announcement.php?f=151&a=52
Hope this helps!
I guess I need to know what a "valid" post is? I have posted in the last year, although I am sure not the required 25 times. Could you please explain?
Thanks.
Ren
mrsdragoness 11-30-2006, 08:40 AM Hi Ren!
We just ask that your posts be supportive or informational rather than posting recipes, jokes, Welcomes and birthday wishes. Those types of posts are important too, but we'd rather see new members focus on the informational, supportive aspect of PTO first! ;)

Welcome, dion!
First, I think you would get help with your question if you asked it in the New York forum. The system is different in each state.
Second, come introduce yourself in the "introduction" thread on both the main site and in the NY forum as well.
PTO can be a very supportive place to be when you're in the same boat with so many others.

mrsdragoness 01-10-2007, 07:37 PM Beth.. welcome to PTO! This is not a live chat site so folks may not answer your queries right away. You can find information in the Ohio forum.. just scroll down the main page until you find the state forums.
mrsdragoness 01-10-2007, 07:39 PM please note that this is a 2002 thread and things have changed here on PTO since that time.
You can find chat room information by clicking here (http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147829)
