Does anyone know if a NCIC check is done on visitors in ARK DOC facilities. My daughter thinks all of her problems are clear but doesn't want any surprises if she takes her children to see their dad who is incarcerated in Tucker Unit in Arkansas. She has been cleared as a visitor. Thank you for any information anyone can relay.

Hi And Welcome to PTO. I looked on the Arkansas website in the Guide for Family and Friends and it states that a background check is done, and if the person has had a prior criminal conviction he or she might be allowed to visit six months after being released from incarceration. If I read your post correctly she has already been approved for visitation? So I would think if she has been approved then she passed the check.I am fairly new to all of this so you might let some others give their thoughts. :) kitty

Welcome to PTO! :)

I agree with what kitty said, if she's been approved for visitation, then I can't foresee there being any problems. What is a NCIC check?? That would probably help me in trying to answer your question.

Butchies_girl - Thanks for explaining. I'm sorry you can't visit your man, I know that's got to be tough. But it looks like you guys don't have too much longer until he's out.
