Hello Ladies! I will soon be visiting R J Donovan this weekend, and I was curious about the visiting process. Also do they have an outside patio where we can sit and talk? Any info will be much appreciated!

No Lady Here :D But I've been there so I'll help you out.

If your man is in reception you will get a non-contact visit only.

If he's GP then you can get a contact visit, The visiting room has tables inside and a small patio area so the choice is yours.

When you visit Donovan you have to first check in a Su Casa to get your number. It's run my the Inmate Family Council and these folks are a big help. Ask their opinions on your clothing choice and any other question you may have. They will help you so you don't get turned away for any stupid issues.

Once you're done at Su-Casa, they bus you over to the main facility and visitor processing, sit down and wait till they call your number. After they process you, you have to wait till they have a group and walk you over to the visiting yard.

My suggestion is to get there early and leave early like 2:30 cause I stayed till 3:00 one time and spent 1 1/2 hours waiting in line for the bus ride 800 feet across the parking lot back to Su Casa. I was pissed!

If you man is GP you do not need and appointment, if he's reception you must make an appointment one week in advance.

Thanks Richard! I am going to visit an old friend, so I will be going with his Sister and father, I just didnt want to ask his sister if they have an outside patio, cause I just wanted a lil alone time with him, but I didnt want to seem rude, if you know what I mean! ;) Thanks again!

hi i just had a visit with my son there. make sure you get there early so the process goes faster. yes there is a very small patio to go out on. no grass or anything just a long bench. they order food from a restaurant there so you dont just have to eat vending machine food. its not bad but the guys sure enjoy it. so make sure you bring enough money. i hope you have contact visits but if not have a great visit.
