I was just wondering, since no prison is alike, how do you get pictures taken at PVSP? I just got approved to seee my friend up there and I want some pictures with him, so do I have to buy them before going in? Or does he have to get them from the canteen before he comes out on a visit? And on D Yard, thats where I think heis, do they ever run out of film? Thanks ladies for answering my questions!

If I remember correctly you buy them before you get processed from the store but the last time I was there was november 2004 so it could have changed

You buy photo ducets in specific vending machines next to the change machine in the processing room, or if they are out there, they usually have them at the counter. When I first started visiting, though, for a few months there were no ducets. The photos are pretty generic. You should take the photos early so that they don't run out of film.

The camera was broken on my wedding day (January 14th) on D yard. D yard is great BYW.

After checking in, there is a machine that cost $2 in quarters. (Just about everything is in quarters) A ducat in a cardboard sleeve will pop out. Throw the cardboard away and keep the green ducat. If there isn't film, there will be a sign on the machine. After you get through to the visiting area and the one you are visiting comes in, let the porter know you want your picture taken. After it is taken, it has to be signed off by the officer at the desk. The porter will bring it to you. I took mine home and made copies to send around. Hope this helps.
