I Haven't Been Able To Visit My Husband Since The Beginning Of Dec.... Visiting Wasn't Thaaat Bad Of A Wait. Now, He Tells Me The Cars Are Lined Up @ The Entrance, & Down Cecil Street. Is This Really True? My Husband Is On The Level 1 (e) Yard. There Im Sure Everything's On A Smaller Scale, But Any Info On Both For Everyone Would Be Great. Thanks

Last weekend was the first time, I saw it as bad as it was. I arrived at 7:30, and I was the 32nd car in line outside the gates. I was processed and back to the visiting room by 9:15. Which I thought wasnt too bad. And my visit wasnt terminated. Im not sure what its going to look like this weekend, but I am leaving earlier.

Hi my name is Mousie, I went two weeks ago and I was out side for about 1hour 1/2 just to get process. And then I was in the visiting room around 10:30 in the morning I think is bull shit the waiting because when my old man was in Folsom it only took about 20 minutes for the process. But I'm gonna talk to the sargeant and complaint about this situation.

Everyone has to wait in the line regardless of what yard you go to A-E.
Depedng on when you arrive is when you'll get in. I think it was 3 weeks ago also that I got there at 7:30 and didnt get in until 9:15 or so later. The problem is that there is no order, ppl get their kids to run to the front of the line or in front of whoever is walking same thing be/c you end up way in the back. Every week I have to get up earlier and earlier and the CO's in processing change stuff every week. 3 weeks ago they only handed out I think 15 passes, only half of the group that had arrived early had passes every body else waited outside.
I'm saying lets get together and figure out what can work for us to make it smoother. I heard that the ppl who applied for IFC havent heard anything yet. Well lets get our IFC reps working on this be/c I dread how unorganized this is, I just get a big relief when my hubby walks out the door and suddenly I forget about it all until the next week when I got through it all over again?

IFC: Inmate Family Council, This peope represent the yard they visit on, they have meetings with the Visiting Ltn. and other CDCR staff once a month usually at a restauraunt (or neutral ground). They discuss the issues that are going on in every ones yards, like variety of food, implementing a better visitor processing etc, and what CDCR will do to help etc. They had a aplication deadline of Feb 3 I think, so I hope once they begin it will run smooth.

Where Do We Find The Latest Info From These Meetings? Or Can We Put In Our Thoughts And Opinions?

After they start there should be a suggestion/complaint box that only the IFC has the key to open and you would place it there and then the IFC reps for each yard wil bring up the issues in their monthly meetings. To find the latest info for their meetings you have to know who represents your yard and be nice to them (ha ha ha) Actually some IFC reps have like a message board or yahoo group I can only name Ironwood that I know of that has it like this and keeps everyone informed. Being that KVSP ladies are in so much need of information as we can see by the many posts we post and reply to basiclly in tune with what is going on at KVSP it would be nice and necesary to begin an online information page from IFC. For now we just have to wait and see when KVSP is finshed screening the IFC applicants. Oh yes and if you live close and want to attend these meetings you have to get approval from the visiting Ltn, it may be somebody else but whatever I here I'll pass it on.
