Jennifer I looked online and I can't find any place in Little Rock called City Of Faith. And really no halfway houses listed either. Mostly just alcohol recovery places. I know there are some ladies on here who know more about this than me, so be patient and I'm sure someone will reply soon.I will continue to look and see what I can find. kitty

Jennifer - I don't think anyone is not willing to give you information, it's just that no one who has come across your thread that apparently has any info for you. I'm with kitty and personally do not know anything about halfway houses. Hopefully someone will come along with some info soon.

I did a search of the PTO Arkansas Forum and typed in "halfway houses" and came up with a link to this thread. It may be outdated, but it does have a list of halfway houses. Hope this helps you out :):

I went and seen my Baby this weekend and he told me that they had closed a halfway house down in Little Rock. That might be the one. The only reason he knew was because one of the guys that they call Pops was supposed to go to it. They had him all dressed in free world clothes and packed ready to go. Then when I guess they called to check to see who will be picking him up. They told him that the halfway house to which he was going was shut down. Made him put his prison uniform back on. He got done dirty. You would think they would try and see if another halfway house would take him.

Since a law was passed (last yr.), where the Board of Corrections has to Approve and Certify halfway houses in AR. there are not as many of them. I would suggest that you call the Dept. of Community Corrections and ask them for a listing of approved halfway houses, since they are the ones that either approve or disapprove them. Also, the parole office in the area you are looking for should be able to tell you about the halfway houses that they use.

jennifer we ALL know frustration with all these systems and no clear answers from the people who are paid to help us, so no problem as far as I'm concerned. Keep the faith, we'll get it through together.

It depends on what area of Arkansas you're moving to as far as what jobs might be available and the cost of rent. Here's a link to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette newspaper - it might give you an idea of what jobs are out there & rent prices.

Good luck with the move! And if you have anymore questions about moving here, we're here for you.

Is that in Little Rock? If it is, then the Arkansas Democrat Gazette Classifieds should have lots of places for rent & jobs available for the Little Rock area.

So. Garfield looks like a Little Rock Add., Hunt's-girl is right.. you can view an online edition of the Arkansas Democrat Gazette newspaper and find most of what you need. I see that California is your "location", I would think that rent would be a lot less in AR., as far as jobs go, the Little Rock area would have the most available. Good luck with the move, I'm happy for you and yours.
