In June of 2005 I sent my husband a package through Access and do you know that as of March 9, 2006 he has yet to recieve it. You heard right:angry:   9 MONTHS:angry:   and no package. Now everyone claims to have no idea where it went. Access even tells me that they never even bothered to send it out until July 20th when they were on lockdown and supposedly not accepting orders or packages then. No one knows where it is and I am getting mad as hell becuase I could use that $250.00 right now. My husband 602'ed it and they said too bad, you only had 60 days to file for your missing property, so its too late. I wrote the warden and ombudsman and filed a complaint and contacted Access but have never heard anything from them at all.

So have any of you guys ever had a bad experience with them before? And if not, let this be a warning efore you think about giving them your hard earned cash.

I've never had a problem with them, did you by chance put it on your credit card or debit card? You can contest the charges and get your money back as well.
Goodluck to you, I would be  as heck also.

I haven't had problems with them either.
Maybe someone in the mailroom snatched it?????

I did put it on my card. I never thought to contest the charges, since I am in no mood to donate anythign to either Salinas Valley or Access.

Yeah right, I doubt that they would have sntched it. My husband had a mid life crisis and went vegetarian and his package was full of nothing but fish stuff, vitamins, and donuts.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Sorry to hear you had problems with them. I just sent my husband a package last month and he received it with no problems.

Ask the vendor for the tracking number. They should be able to provide it. That will show if the package made it to the facility or not. If it was signed for by an authoirzed agent then the only recourse you have is with the prison. If it was not delivered then you would have to go to the shipping company. If it was UPS they usually only cover $100.00 per box unless additional insurance was purchased. At best it will be difficult to recoup anything as too much time has passed.

Thanks, I emailed customer services today to ask them to get me the tracking number and to see who signed for the package and when. Thank you for the suggestion. I'll let you guys know what happened with that. I'm just not holding my breath about it.

The same thing happened to a friend who sent a package to her man but since they were on LD it sat around until they are able to received them again. So if they have too many to pass out before they go back on LD (as if C yard ever does) then they might miss him again. Did you know that no packages are allowed while on LD?

I strictly use Walkenhorst's. I used Access one time and it took them about 30 days just to send it and then of course it took the prison forever to distribute it, so, we just made it in time. THEN when he got it, he had substitutions in there that were nothing he'd ever eat, so, he ended up bartering it away. I was pissed with the whole thing. So, I stick with what I know. I have used Walkenhorst's for 12 years and never a problem. He's going to try D&D this package coming up...I'll keep you all posted on how that goes.

Please do, because I will never use Access ever again. So I need to find a company that has a good track record.
