I think that is a great idea!! I think I know someone who spoke to them when they went to interview people. I don't know if it's the same show though. It would be great to have a discussion afterward.

TLC is The Learning Channel and is Part of the Discovery Channel, they are the ones that show Trading Spaces, While you were out, ect.

You can go on their website to find what channel they are on in your area, however it is a cable only channel.

It had to be filmed very recently as KVSP just went full capacity in January. And "Yes it's Delano II.

for those of you with comcast digital cable or a general cable ready tv who live in la or the sorrounding cities/counties.tlc is on channel 48.i just looked and set a reminder to watch it.i think im going to tape it as well.my fiance although he is at nksp,it will probably give me some real insight as to what its like and the area since the two are so close.i hope this helps.

I've also checked. I have satellite. It airs at 7:00 p.m, TLC (channel 183). That's only 15 minutes away. Gotta go... talk to you guys soon...

I stayed up to watch it and its still on but I figured I better add my two cents now while its hot. That one Co B better be happy that inmates didnt see the this program. That other female was pretty smart to not bad talk anybody since she has to continue to go work in that environment. I mean Im sure they know we will tell our loved ones.



Bottom line the wathat femaleCO B(dont want to mention her last name)when to spite the inmate about his ID she ransacks his cell and takes his property.

On the positive note they portrayed an inmate being released from ASU, it is one of the few hopes in a maximum security prison that they will come home soon. Keep having hope. But I cant say I have seen or heard of any parole pick ups as of yet and y I see it is the CO's can be cool do their 8 hours and go home to their families and our loved ones can in the same manner do their time imposed by the courts and come home to their loved ones when that time comes. The problem begins when the CO's want to have attitudes and take inmates property, take their phone time, mess with their mail and visits (the most impo, few priviledges) and make both their time even worse and that is what will make a CO or inmate from coming home.

well let me just say that i saw it too.

some of those people are just so barbaric,:eek: yes the co's and very few of the inmates.yea i have to agree when she ransacked the dudes cell,tht was kinda f**ked up.

while watching all i could think about was my man n what hes doing,how hes being treated,is he ok.it was really hard to focus.:confused: +:( =:heart:

some of the men in prison might as well be the strongest men in the world.me personally i couldnt be institutionalized like tht.like the cage the guy was talking to the physcoligist in,id go nuts.to analyze myself as a being, would be impossible in two by four box.in the free world,i still think ppl need more freedoms,i still feel trapped,being free,and look how enclosed these guys are.i dunno.its just my weird contorted opinion.but damn i must give them their props.

Oh my gosh I saw it and I don't know what my feelings are on it yet. I recognized some of the C.O.'s. The one that was talking about that guy masterbating in front of her works in the visiting room. What about the male C.O.'s? They are making it seem like all there are is females. And what about them saying to the female rookies that if they wear to much make up or perfume that the inmates will want them?? The woman who ransacked the guys cell and how she said he disrespected me so I will disrespect his house? Isn't she supposed to be a profesional? Then she says she will take the things that are most dear to him. Man I don't even know what to say about it. It just frustrates me. The main reason that I watched it was to see what it looks like in there and see how my man lives everyday. They only show what they want the public to see. When the guy was giving them a tour of his cell I thought it was kind of funny how he kept pointing out how dangerous it was for him to hit his head on the corners or something. Not funny towards him but how he was using the interview to tell them how they should correct things.

I watched it to!!! Just so I could get a idea of what my man goes through everyday. Boy, did I get a real eye opener. I was surprised the cells are so small. No chance for any privacy. And those cages they put them in at times, those seem absolutley inhuman. I really feel for my man, and all those other imates. Thoses COs just dont seem to show a whole lot of compassion. I understand they are just doing their jobs. That show didnt really show anything positive, just alot of negative.

The female I recognized was the white girl with the boyish shaved hair, she works in my visiiting room and was processing ppl 2 weeks ago.

LADY BAM: I think that the females do let their feelings get to them, be/c in the library that inmate was talking from the title 15, rules and she was not using rules. Just as they said that the men want the woman? Hello, lets be real now... I understand that the inmate that said that woman are like shark bait, I cant say he sounds like someone who has a woman that visits him on a regular basis. We have to acknowledge that there are inmates who do masturbate and see the female workers as someone they fantasize with, but they have ppl with special needs in there and men who have been forgotten, that is the closest to a female they will ever see. I speak on my husbands and inmates I have seen in visit, I have never been seen with disrespect by any inmate, if anything I just saw two CO's in visit looking at the wife of an inmate carrying a baby "rear end", he was staring!

Being STRONG, we all our but I worry when I think of how my hubby lives and what these CO's do to him, the mind games. You know I'll share something with you KVSP ladies be/c your men have probably experienced this also. He has been very emotional since he's been at KVSP, he saids the program is crazy. I mean years ago he could care less, it was about keeping up the name he made for himself and now he is just trying to do this time and come home to his family. The few privileges he has they screw with and now with the show, I saw why he needs me sooooo much and requires all of my attention. I understand where he is coming from now. I devote my life around my hubby but will give him even more of me be/c he needs of me even more at this prison.

Well, I am just adding my input , again my husband is in CCI, but I have friends in D2..I watched that show and Ummm, all I could do was shake my head..First and foremost..I do NOT think females should work in Male prisons, and all that rambling she was doing about the male inmates need the woman cos there for emotional support etc..that was a CROCK to me... if it were so those cats in the library would NOT have said what they said..and yes us as woman are emotional, and she was just making herself look DUMB!! then there was another one..In the beginning the one female CO said if you have nails etc, you want to take them off..yadayadayada..and then they interview ole girl and she is made all up and has acrlyic nails on, come on is this a fashion show or a job.. and she was so proud to say, the unit I work on house Molestors and Rapist and Murderers...Ok, you want to work there again because??? And then to verbally voice that you are intimadated by the inmates. WOW!!! They just made me want to scream...
On a more positive note, I did like that they showed the inside of the cells and what they go through.. and how yard looks...WHATS up with the pink blankets and towels???? Hmmmmm, that was weird to me.
I heard that there are ALOT oof female COs @ D2 is this true...and we know it was taped in Dec 2005, because that guy was released 12/13/2005.. Well, I guess I have said enough on the subject.. BEst of luck to you all @ D2 and anywhere else..

Am I the only one who is upset at TLC for airing what was obviously a PR bit produced and backed by CDC? I plan to email TLC producers to express my disappointment with them for not including the OTHER point of view. I mean they made it sound like all 5000 inmates are "The Worst of the Worst!" And that the vast majority of the C/O's are females. It was pathetic and political and just adds to the impression that lay persons who have no experience with the correctional system feel about prisoners and C/O's and prisons. Frankly - it plain pissed me off!

TERRY ANN: You know I was just writing my hubby a letter on how it perceived that woman worked in a maximum security prison. I doubt that was the title right? It is biased do you think CDCR would allow cameras in to air a show on inmates and families point of view, hey maybe they should show how the inmates and families are treated. That its not like that inmate pointed out in the yard that they look like their having a good time On the notes it said inmates get 10 hours I couldnt see if it was a day or a week which is wrong since they only get about 1 hour, hence 23 hour lockdown.

What about the guys going to chow pointing out that indeed they werent getting their food on time but 3-5 hrs late. I'm with you Terry Ann I'm not one to complain and seek no action, I write about it...

So it didnt air again on Wednesday at 7pm as posted? I guess they realized as I did, that they used the CO's names and that we would recognize ppl and maybe even pass it on to our inmates. I mean they depicted alot of things they shouldnt like :
>the Co saying she was getting back at the inmate and ransacking his cell over some bs
>the CO admitting she was scared
> the CO that was almost crying about the inmate allegedly having obscene behavior
> they mentioned crushing an inmates dick (cruel)
>inmates not getting their food (program)

This is a powerful tool against them, but we all know they knew about it, they were interviewed and signed documents to tape the show, then they had the CO's aired sign documents also, and before it aired they reviewed it, edited and approved the final edition. It wasnt just something they didnt know about and are now aurprised it came out.

I'm unhappy and disgusted about this show. I wrote to my hubby about it and as long as theirs free speech in this country, I can speak my mind about CO's in writing.

I too am very disappointed!! I could not believe that they would say crap like that on tv... Especially the part where that CO said he's gonna disrespect me, well I will disrespect him and shake his cell and she was just going through all his stuff because she felt she was disrespected. I thought being a CO and controlling inmates is a job and things like that should not be taken personal. It sounded like those ladies take allot of things personal. There it goes to show how those kind of females are the ones who give us a bad name. Gees and then for that one trainer to say she will rip his dick off that was very ugly and she was training. That was appalling and they knew what the show contained they only pulled it off the air because they probably got complaints and threats of lawsuits. Well I just hope that one day someone can do a real documentary on Prison life on inmates and their families. No one cares about how the Co's get mad and have personal vendettas against inmates. If you can't take the heat then get out of your career as a CO!!!!!
