View Full Version : I got a ticket on my way to visiting
LukLuv 03-06-2006, 01:45 PM I got a ticket on Sunday morning as I was getting ready to exit the freeway to see my hubby. After a long hour and a half drive, I was pissed. At visiting a couple of other people told me they'd gotten several tickets over the years on their way too and from visiting. Just curious, who else has gotten tickets going to visiting? And how did you handle it (Contest, Pay the Fine, Traffic School, etc.)???
Bob-bi-lu 03-06-2006, 02:08 PM OMG, well you're not alone. I got a speeding ticket on Saturday morning when I was on my way to the prison. I've received a few speeding tickets over the years on my way to visit my man.
What I always do is I schedule a court date to appear in court. Then I request for a "bail reduction" so the judge will lower the fine amount for the speeding ticket. Then I also request to attend traffic school, which is granted. You can request traffic school as long as your speed was not over 80 mph. Good luck!
monet420 03-06-2006, 09:40 PM I got one on New years eve on the way to visit :( :(... It cost me 189.00!!! not cool...But I was in a hurry to see my baby :)

Cheetoes1 03-06-2006, 10:44 PM I got a ticket last year driving back from Delano to LA on the GrapeVine. I went past the CHP doing 90 and just pulled over the side of the road before he turned his lights on!! :D LOL That ticket cost me $385, plus what I had to pay for traffic school. I went before the Judge and asked for traffic school and he said yes. The ticket is off my record, but I got another ticket the Friday after Thanksgiving driving threw a red light ( I got caught on the only working red light Carmera in LA) and now I have to fork out another $ 385!! :(

MikesLego 03-06-2006, 10:50 PM Yeah I recieved a ticket the first I went out there! I was doing 85 and it cost me $225, I just paid it because I really didn't want to take the time off work to fight it.
Eowyn 03-06-2006, 11:37 PM got a ticket in northern cali, passing a slowpoke on a one lane highway in the no pass zone! (I was hurrying to visit and the cars were just too s l o w !!!) Paid a fine and did traffic school online. Now I try to be more careful, leave earlier, how important is it really? Important enough to get hurt? Pay a fine? Nah...
luckyme1526 03-08-2006, 02:20 AM I've never gotten a ticket on my way to visit, thank God! I think I have been lucky because I do tend to speed A LOT! I hope I don't get one anytime soon.

luckyme1526 03-08-2006, 11:34 PM I know better than that, I pray an "Our Father" everytime I hit the road, to protect me from any accidents, car trouble, and tickets! :D

Lulu21 03-10-2006, 10:28 PM A couple of years ago, I went with a friend to see her man, out in Blythe. Well she ended up getting pulled over twice on the way down there, one was in Palm Springs, and the other one, as she was about to exit in Blythe. She was so pissed. But on the way home I ended up driving and I got pulled over too. We laughed about that for months!
FRIENZTODAEND 03-10-2006, 11:01 PM I did worse than a traffic ticket. Three weeks ago when it was raining, I was on my way to see my man, I was coming off the freeway as I needed gas. I was going about 35-40, and there was a big rig on the off ramp, and I couldnt stop in time, and of course I crashed right into the back of it!!! The driver didnt even realize I hit him. I caused 5K worth of damage, to my new car. I would gladly take a ticket any day. I am grateful I wasnt hurt, and my car wasnt totaled.
