Does anyone know if they have change machines at KVSP visiting? Is this in the room before you go on the yard? Also, do they have photos yet? Where do you get the ducats? Is there a machine to get these if they do? Do they have an inmate hobby shop? I doubt it as it doesn't appear they have hobby there yet. I just need to know if I need to take quarters if I can get them there also if I should take enough for the photo ducats. Just trying to plan out how much money to take. Thanks!

One final question did anyone notice if they have fresh fruit and avocados in the vending machines. Hope so, these were my man's favorites.

There are two change machines outside of the visitor process center but if you don't get there early sometimes they are out of quarters. Especially on Sunday because I don't think they fill them up on the weekend. They do have pictures. You can buy 2 ducats per visitor from the officer after you go through the metal detector before you leave the process center. They are $2 each. As for the inmate hobby shop I'm not sure on that one. The only fruit that they have in the vending machines is the cup of fruit, which isn't fresh, and oranges which cost $3 for two!! :) Hope this helps and I haven't been to visit for about 3 weeks so I'm not sure if something has changed.

Dollar bills and quarters are both accepted. However, I would suggest taking both because sometimes the machines are acting funny and won't take quarters or won't take dollars. It's best to have both just in case.

Thanks so much for the information. Does this mean that you can go into the visiting area with dollar bills? At th e last prison you could only take quarters past the processing center. Can you clarify, I don't want to be stuck there without adequate money. Can you pay in dollar bills for the photo ducats, or do you need quarters for this too? At the last place you had to put quarters intot he machine in the processing area before you went through the detector. Yup you can take dollar bills. Unless they have changed it within the last three weeks. And yes you can pay for photo ducats with either quarters or dollars. Right when you go through the metal detector there is an officer that gives you back your shoes and coin purse (after inspection) and he is the one that you buy the ducats from. Don't forget cause they won't let you come back to buy one.
