Just FYI, anyone wanting to use Alabama's automated inmate information system (the number on the parole board website) this week may as well not even try right now. Since Monday, any AIS number entered into the system is reported as being invalid. I've reported the glitch and hopefully someone will fix it soon... it figures this would happen on a week when one of Brian's friends had his hearing (and another one coming up on Monday). :(

Just wanted to pass that along... hey, wonder if I can get Brian released since the system says his AIS number is invalid, LOL... ;)

I know - I've been trying the %*#$*# number for days now. Wayne's invalid too! ;) Thanks for reporting it - I just kept cussing it.

Don't you just hate that redneck guys voice that does the prompts?

What exactly does the automated inmate system do when it is working? Does it tell you info about the inmate?

I don't know if my reporting it will help... I reported it to the PB site webmaster, but figured even tho he/she probably doesn't have anything to do with the automated line, he/she can report it to whoever's in charge! I hope! Fingers crossed. Yep, I hate that guy's voice too! He also talks TOO much... a little too much information!!! :D

Carol - lemme see if I can remember (since it's not working properly I can't check to see what all it does). You put in the AIS number and it can tell you at what facility the inmate is located (and maybe the phone number and/or address too - I can't remember!), their next parole hearing date, and the results of their last hearing... seems like there is something else but I can't remember!! If the silly thing was working I could tell you! :)

They're pretty quick about updating the info on parole hearing results, it's kinda cool in that regard...

It gives you the case supervisor, yet Wayne's never had one. I don't really know what that's supposed to be about.

I've given redneck boy a name. It's my little secret name for him, but I'll share it here. :) I call him Fred and Fred's told me for over a year now, "Parole revoked with reset." I've hated him since!

It's still not working, I just checked an hour or so ago. Fred's falling down on the job!!! :haha:

And oh yes... I now have THREE parole hearings to check up on just when the system's gone down! One last week, one next week, and one the week after. Brian just told me another friend in the dorm just got notified day before yesterday of his hearing (now that's good news, actually... obviously with that and with Wayne coming up in July, the wheels down there are turning a little better!!!).

Now I just hope they get Fred fixed so I can find out the outcomes as they come along...

Yep, know that... it's the automated phone system on the Parole Board's website (that does give results of parole hearings) that's not working correctly. Hopefully they will get it working again.

lys ive been trying that number for at least 2 weeks now and it always says invalid ais number...

i guess since their number is invalid they can go home then, huh? hehe

Its been down for almost 3 weeks!! I have reported it MANY times, like on my daily phones calls to see if we have a release date yet. I have called SO many times since system has been down, i think they know my voice and just automatically say NO DATE SET!! At least talking to a real person is better than Fred! But I have to disagree with you saying Fred is redneck, i think he is anything but!! :haha:
You probably know, but you can call the direct number (334)242-8700 and a live person will give you the info you need. The lady that usually answers is ALWAYS! very nice and helpful and she said it was fine to call that number everyday until the system is fixed and she can pull the info up and relay it.

Holy Cow Batman! It worked today! I just checked and it worked. Will wonders never cease??
