I LOVE YOU...

Sebastian first said I love you to me on the telephone in mid December of 2003, about 5 months after we starting talking. We were having a conversation and he said, "I love you". Now trust me I heard him loud and clear but I asked, "What did you say?" He said, "I love you". I commanded, "Say it again". He said, "I love you" and I said, "I love you too!" We've been saying it ever since...

So how about you, who said it first and how did the other respond? Was it in a letter, on the phone, at a visit? Tell us about it....

I love him,
Patty

I said it first. It was after we had been visiting for a while. I just told him that I had something important to tell him. He sat there and waited. I was so nervous and when I finally got it out he just kept staring at me. I told him he didn't have to respond I just wanted him to know and he said well how do you know I don't feel the same. The rest, as they say, is history.

I actually met Deon at the county jail in '04 when I was the nurse there. Unbeknowst to me, he had a thing for me well before he vocalized it.

We had known each other 5 months before we actually got involved. By that time he was totally infatuated with me. He told me I love you first about a month after we decided to get into a relationship. It took me a little longer because I was being skeptical about love period. But after spending time with him and knowing his character through his family, friends, even ex-girlfriends, I knew he was a keeper.

He wrote it to me in a letter first. We had been talking 10 times a day everyday for about 10 months or so and we had been together for about a month, The day I got the letter I was so happy!! He called later that night and he said you know I meant what I wrote in that letter, I said I love you too.

I had told him that I loved him a month before and one night when I decided it was foolish of me to do so I wrote him in a panic worrying that I had messed things up. I got a letter back and he told me that he loved me, he was waiting to tell me on the phone but, it was obvious to him that I needed to hear it then.

He told me, just recently, that he told me that he was in love with me before I ever told him but was scared to say anything.

I love him so much and I'll never forget that feeling

He said it first in a letter but it was so cute. He was shy aboout telling me cause he wasn't sure about how I felt so he wrote _ * _ _ _ _ * _ _ _
and I just thought that was so precious and sweet ! I wrote back and I put it the same way he did only I filled it in and I was like did I get the answer right ?

On our very next visit the first thing we said to each other in person was I love you...

I love talking to him but that is my favorite thing to say when I see him and my favorite thing to write in his letters....and of course I love to hear and see it from him too !!!

I said it first too. We were on the phone and I just blurted it out. Then there was dead silence on the phone. I immediately thought the worst because he didn't say anything at first. Then when he began to speak his voice cracked, he was teary eyed, and he lovingly said "I love you too". Memories...:)

My sweety caught me off gaurd on the phone one night. Our lil' 15 minutes was about up and he was saying his usual goodbye stuff, you know like "be careful, send some more pictures" and then he just said "I love you baby" and I froze.... and said "Ok, Robert have a good night" then hung up the phone. My heart was racing and I wanted to kick myself, I had been waitin to hear that so I could tell him the same for so long, and I messed it all up. He usually calls me a couple times a week, so I waited and waited for the next phone call so I could hurry up and tell him how much I loved him. After not gettin a phone call for a week I hurried up and wrote him a letter telling him that i was sorry and I loved him with all my heart. He called the day he got the letter and was very relieved to hear me tell him that. Isn't love just wonderful!!!!

He said it first and it was via a letter, b/c I did not allow calls until 2 yrs into our friendship, etc.

Well the first time he said I didnt hear it, cause he was at the end of the hall. LOL

I used to work overnights at the unit he is at, and I was working this post called Bcontrol, which is just a little area you sit in poping doors for people to get on the cell blocks. At the time he was a SSI, he was housed on one block, but worked on the other one, I dont remember it, but he does, I swear he doesnt forget anything LOL, anyways he says, he came up to go to work and I wouldnt let him out, I can be very moody at times, hey I am a cancer its not my fault, LOL, so I guess I was in one of my leave me alone moods, so after a round of where you going and whys, I let him out only for him to have to be let in on the other side, so he was really working a nerve that night, I guess he sensed I wasnt in a good mood so before he headed on down the hall he told me, It's alright, it aint all bad, He says I just kinda looked at him, you know ladies those looks we can give, he said after he walked away and was down the hall he told me he loved me, even told one of the dudes he calls his brother, I was gonna be his wife. :) He used to always tell me, I was gonna be his wife, but I just blew it off, cause I was there to work not hook up, but I have learned we just dont know what God has planned for us. Cause now I am his wife, we have been married going on 8 months and we have been together since 2001.

It took me awhile before I was able to say it. I think I had been gone from the unit about 6 mts before I admitted to myself that I loved him. Now I can't keep myself from telling him every chance I get how much I love him.

Loveing only him

I guess the time was right when me and my honey said it. We both said it at the same time in letters which crossed one another over the Atlantic! :) I was so elated, as i was scared that when i told him that, that he may not have felt the same and it mayve ruined the deep friendship that we had built. Thankfully he was fessing the same!! Now we dont stop telling eachother "I Love You"!

Reading these stories made me try to think of how it happened the first time for me, but that was 12 years ago and we had an 11 year "time-out" so I'll have to write and ask him. He'll remember - he's got a memory like an elephant! Since we reconnected April 2005, he hasn't stopped telling me he loves me. I just took it with a grain of salt because, been there, done that and he up and got into trouble again. Through the months I read his letters and visited with him and it appeared he had completely turned his life around. Still I was very hesitant to let myself feel again. Well, I told him at a visit last November. I think he actually stopped talking for a couple of seconds :haha: and I looked him in the eye, put my hand to his cheek and told him that I loved him, that I never stopped loving him for all these years and that I was sure, committed and that I believed and trusted in him again. He smiled and took it in stride or so I thought. Several days after that visit, I get a letter saying that you don't know how long he's been waiting to hear me say those "three little words." He's been flying high ever since like a little kid to the point the staff laughs and says to tell me thank you for making him such a happy person!

Thank you for letting me share.

I said more than 3 words in a letter. I said, "I'm falling in love with you." He was not shocked until the next letter said "will you marry me?" He actually had said similar words in a letter that crossed in the mail with mine!

aww what sweet stories, and i beamed when i saw the thread! *good thinking Hot!*

hmm...my i love you story...

one day we were talking and he came out and just said, "i love you." and he was really open and honest, and a little nervous but that "i'm not nervous" type of nervous. and i looked at him and said, "you don't love me because you don't know me." and he said, "i know you and i know i love you." it took me a while to really believe him (i went through alot before him)...but when i saw he was sincere...i took it as a sign and did everything to be with him :)

Well my guy said it to me first. What was funny was that I knew it was coming. We kept telling each other how important the other was. The weekend before Sweetest day last year he called me 3 times in a row which was unusual. Before the third call he told me that he had to call me back because he had to tell me something. When he called back he said that he was kicking the dirt around the phone waiting for me to answer. He was so nervous. He was so nervous in fact that he couldn't say it. I knew what he was gonna say but I didn't let him off the hook that easy. He called me the next weekend (Sweetest Day) and said, "you know how I feel about you don't you? You know that I love you, right?" I told him that I loved him too and that I knew he wanted to tell me that the weekend before. He said, "well why didn't you say it then?" I told him that the guy has always said it first in my relationships. I rewarded him and myself with some good phone conversation (If you know what I mean). Since then we never feel like we can say it to each other enough. In fact it really bothers me if our calls get cut off before we can say it to each other.

He said it first.......

We had been seeing each other for about 3 weeks and he came to work (he was in work release and at the same job as me) and handed me a letter and said that I could read it now if I wanted, but he was gonna go in the back for a while so I could read it. I was like okay. The letter was so sweet...he told me how he had fallen deeply in love with me and that he had given me his heart and whenever I was ready to give him mine that he would guard it with his life. It was the cutest! When he came back I told him I loved him too and that was it.

We are now married and saying I love you every chance we get.:)

well, here is our "love" story

we were at visit and talking about my wild and crazy ways. he was making fun of me because i always went clubbing! he was saying something about when he came home he had to make alot of money to keep me happy. it was really funny, we kept laughing and drawing alot of attention to us, so one of the really cool guards came up to me and said to keep it down and i laughed at him, he laughed too. Scott said, "What am i gonna do with you?" and i laughed and said, "just love me, like everyone else" i didn't really think too hard about what i said cause we were just joking around, and then he said under his breath "I already do that". i pretended like i didn't hear him and asked him what he just said, he got embarrassed and didn't tell me. but i heard it!

Gary said it first. It was two months after we started writing each other. He told me he loved me from the first moment he laid eyes on me.

He told me at out first visit, which shocked me, although I already knew that he had deep feelings for me. I think I was more shocked, when I told him that I told him that I loved him too!!

We just said it to each other for the first time on the phone last night. We have both been dancing around it for a while now, plus there were some things that we needed to discuss. In the letter that I got yesterday, he said that he was falling in love with me. At the end of the letter he said, "I'm not going to say I love you because I don't know if it's too soon for you to hear it. I'm leaving that up to you. I don't want to scare you." When he called last night, I told him that I read his letter and there was something that I wanted to say to him. After a long silence, (my heart was POUNDING) I said, "I need to tell you something and I'm just going to say it. Don't feel like you have to say it back but I love you." He laughed and said "Beautiful, I've loved you for a long time now, I love you too."

I wouldn't even tell him my name I told him if he truely wanted to know he would figure it out. A couple weeks went by and we were walking and he stopped suddenly and looked at me and said I am in love with you, just thought you should know. I froze and my throat closed then I turned and walked away he caught me completley off guard. I had to start walking to keep from falling on my face. He then wrote me and said that he was sorry if he made a mistake. I apologized profusley and told him that I loved him too!!! I just wasn't expecting it. And it has now been 9months!!

Last month in the same week we both wrote "I love you" in our letters. We knew from our first letter there was a connection and after a couple of letters we both just started writing more and more until it got to be everyday with each of us. We both even said that we loved each other, but maybe not "in love." However within 2 weeks we were only playing semantics and we were in love. As he has said "this is so special to fall in love from the 'inside out' rather than the reverse."

He said it first on our second visit. We had been writing for 8 months and he said he just knew it all along. I was absolutely shocked and wouldn't say it back...cause if we didn't work out I would've lied! 5 years later it is the first thing we say in person or in a letter. We've been married 3 years in May and I still love him...even more than the first time I finally told him so.
