Jason was denied parole today! I have no idea why. He is crying to me on the phone and i am crying...i do not know what to say to him because nothing can make it better! I can not understand what happened. He only has 6 more months left before he serves his minumum time, and he has had perfect behavior during these 2 years that he has been in, so why didnt they release him at this merit board for good behavior? Every other person he went with was approved, and they had worse crimes, fight all the time, and had less time served that him. It just does not make sense to me. This really is a joke. He did every single think perfectly and I sent the board letters about his character. he has a legit job when he gets home and i live in a great apartment. I just can not understand what happened. So he will get another shot at parole in 6 months, and they most likely will let him go then because he would have served his minumum by then. I am just so lonely and angry. and i feel so bad for him...well i will start another countdown and wait for him however long it takes...180 more days til one more chance at freedom!

You are both in my heart! We've gone through similar and the heartbreak is huge for you both! The parole board never makes sense and often they have been influenced by the victims. Stand by your man, let him know you love him and remember it won't be forever. Please know you are both in my heart and in my prayers.

I forgot to mention, when my friend went up for parole (2nd time), the officer told him that he was denied parole. The officer was not suppose to do this, b/c a team makes the decision. When he told me this, I called the parole board and reported this and the person that answered the phone indicated that what was said was in-correct, b/c the officer had to bring back the report and the entire board would vote. Also, the officer made some racial remarks. My friend wrote the chairman of the board regarding this situation.

Long story short, he met w/ the board in Feb. and a decision was given to him a month later. I guess what I'm trying to say is don't give up hope until the fat lady sings. :-) Keep the faith until a decision has been rendered and when it it (regardless of the outcome), continue to keep the faith.

Best wishes.

What a let down. You still have your lives and your health so though you remain apart because of prison, you're still in a good position.

You poor thing -- the both of you, and I'm sorry.

I am sorry to hear your news. I know its hard. My guy has been denied 4 times already...and here they have to wait 3 years in between hearing dates. It could be worse. I hope he gets it the next time.

My heart goes out to you. I have been down this road twice with parole hearing denials and it kills! Especially when they have been doing well and have all the support letters in the world. We go to the board again next July (if his last parole appeal denial doesn't go through), and I am not even excited. I have a real bad attitude now (unfortunately), am just like let us CR. PM me of you want to talk.

I'm sorry to hear the sad news but if you can, try to kick into positive mode for his sake. Send him the mushiest card you can find and let him know that you're still there for him. Send him a letter with a pep talk about how next time the results will be different. Put thoughts and ideas for your future into his head. Hopefully it will have positive results for you too. Don't let the system beat you.

I have often wondered why model prisoners are denied parole, while others who werent as well behaved are released.I guess its just another aspect of the system we will never understand.Keep your chin up,stay strong, and know you and your man are in my prayers.

I am so sorry to hear this. It is always heartbreaking to hear that parole is denied, especially if they have completed all the programs they were entitiled to do, served the amount of time that is necessary by that state, showed remorse and kept a good institutional record. There really is no rhyme or reason that I can see why some make it and some don't.

I saw a show on Parole Boards here in Kentucky and I was just dumbfounded. They had several cases and I thought based on what they showed and what I heard that perhaps one would make it. Well three of them made it including one who had been out four times and violated each time.

Just try and stay strong and know that we are here for you. Hopefully next time if he doesn't serve out by then, they will give it to him.

All my best to you and yours.
