scott is in pleasant valley state prison and gets released july 7th. he says he will be on parole when he gets out. the problem is he wants to move up to north platte nebraska where I live but we're not married, we're dating. he has family around lincoln and I know that they wont let him transfer parole unless he's moving in with IMMEDIATE family which means i'm not it bc we're not married. is there any way to get around this? and how soon should he apply for a parole transfer??? thanks

Pansy, the interstate compact rule says you have to fit the criteria for mandatory transfer, that means that the receiving state has to accept him. However, if he does not meet the criteria, his parole officer can apply but the receiving state is under no obligation to accept it.
