This is my first time....I'm a newbie. I've been reading off and on since last fall when my hubby was sent to the brig. He is up for a parole hearing in June. All I am wondering is how does he get home? do I go get him? do I buy him a plane ticket? does he have to take the bus? will they give me enough notice to do any of this?

I'm trying to look forward to that final day but we're now 13 hours apart as opposed to the hour we were before so all this seems so much more urgent.

Any help would be appreciated.....

Thanks

hi there (i feel a little silly calling you sugarbritches!!! LOL!),

welcome to PTO! first of all, don't worry. there's plenty of time to figure out everything before your husband comes home. from what i've heard, the decision on parole comes 7 - 10 business days after the hearing. then, if/when he gets released, it'll likely be 1 - 6 months after the decision, tho it'll probably be shorter in his case since it sounds like his sentence is not very long.

they will give him a bus ticket home (to his place of residence according to his parole plan) since that's the cheapest mode of transportation. i was wondering about the same thing and asked my boyfriend who's at the DB in ft leavenworth, and he asked and they said that we could come and get him or we can buy him a plane ticket or whatever we want, but if he didn't have us, the military provides some kind of transportation (the cheapest).

my suggestion is that you have your husband just ask--he can also ask other inmates who will soon be released because there are likely to be some.

i hope that i've been able to help! if you have more questions, feel free to pm me any time.

blessings to you, and i pray for the granting of parole!!
