View Full Version : Met While Incarcerated Letters or Phone Calls?
HotLatinaMILF4U 02-24-2006, 08:43 PM I know this subject has been covered dozens of times in other forums but I was interested in knowing specifically from those who met while incarcerated which do you prefer letters or phone calls and why?
I go back and forth on this. I love to reread letters he sent me but talking to him on the phone is extremely joyous and no I'm not just talkin' bout SUPERPHONESEXSUNDAY!!! I guess you could say I'm sittin' on the fence today about this one. Maybe something one of you shares will push me one way or the other for the moment color me undecided but tomorrow is another day...

Willsgirl 02-24-2006, 10:18 PM Here in Texas calls are far and few between. So we have never talked on the phone.
Would be nice to have one of those SuperSexPhoneCalls :)
LovingYou 02-24-2006, 10:26 PM I only have letters and no phone calls so I reread my letters too. Once in a blue moon I get a call and it's "I love you more" and "no I love you more" for a few minutes.
Snowbaby62 02-24-2006, 10:40 PM Patty having been spoiled up until about a week ago, me and my guy talked every day, usually 3-4 times a day..so definately for me phone calls. I think it brings things more close to home for not only them but for us. he was able to be kept involved of our daily lives which made him feel more included and part of the family...we still get to talk at my moms and of course he is coming home in 11 days so it is all good. But I did just set down and write him his last letter...the last one from me...it is all good...just sentimental thoughts I have one doing this time with him the last 22 months...

flacosGG 02-24-2006, 10:43 PM I have to say Im greedy and I want and like both.
I prefer letters because the phone calls go so quickly and your trying to discuss everything within such a short amount of time, I usually end up hanging up feeling pretty empty where as when I have a letter to reflect on after a long day It makes my day.
:-)

Honey I can so relate to the last letter deal, I went through that during our first bid together. It was dramatic. I have to say after he came home I missed the letters for a short while, both writing and receiving them...
Memories,
Patty
FRIENZTODAEND 02-24-2006, 10:52 PM I perfer the letters. As I think it gives him a chance to say what hes really thinking, in terms of the present, past and the future. Our phone calls usually consist of I love yous, I miss yous and the daily events. It all started with that first letter!!!
kim48 02-25-2006, 05:25 AM I love both! But now, on the weekends, we have three calls at a time. That way we can really get into whatever we're talking about. We call it our "date". But those long letters are wonderful too. I still get so excited when I go to the post office and see a letter from him.
liberaldog 02-25-2006, 07:56 AM I went a long time without phone calls, but now I dont know if I could do without them. I cant do without letters either...hmmm. I have to say I need both!
Retired-24 02-25-2006, 09:03 AM Pco saved me and gave me the chance to have phone calls again! It is expensive tho and while Im not bishhin I just know that our phone calls don't last a long time cause I always want him to call right back and all that. Hes talking about he wants the phone calls to last a month....geez hes's kidding right!!??
I like the letters more too but because that is his private time to express what he can't spit out on the phone. Our phone calls consist of saying I love u a million times over and over and I love every second of it!

babygirl350 02-25-2006, 01:15 PM Well Patty, you forgot the most important option VISITS! Yea, I am all for those, but I know everyone doesn't get them.
For me besides visits being a prority #1 love, I would have to say letters. I love hearing his voice and hearing the latest and also sharing up to date with him, but there is nothing like a letter because I can read and re-read it as much as I want to. With a call, once it is over, it is gone nothing to hold onto.
So this lady has to say letters in your poll.
HotLatinaMILF4U 02-25-2006, 01:19 PM Well Patty, you forgot the most important option VISITS! Yea, I am all for those, but I know everyone doesn't get them.
I guess I was thinking that like you and I visits would in general win so I was mostly focused on the letters/calls situation but as always you bring up a good point, thanks for chiming in!!!
Hugggz,
Patty
amznbert 02-25-2006, 01:52 PM I could care less, just give me any kind of contact. Letters, phone calls, and any thing else its never enough i just keep wanting more, but i will take any thing and every thing i can get.
qwerty 02-25-2006, 03:16 PM Dang I miss all them posts about SUPERPHONESEXSUNDAY... LOL :D
I only like the phone calls because I know right away if he is safe and everything is okay.
But we don't communicate well on the phone -- could it be that dang "THIS CALL IS FROM AN INMATE IN A CALIFORNIA PRISON" recording that comes on every 5 minutes??? Like I couldn't remember all by myself that he's an inmate??? Or is it the screaming and slamming sounds in the background?? Or the COs hanging up on us all the time?? Or my stupid cell phone cutting out at the worst moment???
For whatever reasons, calls are usually quick and tense with us -- did you remember this, say hi to so-and-so, ick, ack, yuck...
In the letters, we take the time and get more real. We haven't written much lately -- we're BOTH busy -- and I really notice the difference.
Glad I just sent a long letter today! :)
lostinloveinny 02-25-2006, 03:19 PM I voted for letters since I can't get phone calls right now.
qwerty 02-25-2006, 03:35 PM Well after all that, dang if he didn't just call!!
Patti, I guess you planted a seed because we had a really sweet, slow conversation... :)
HotLatinaMILF4U 02-25-2006, 03:46 PM LOL qwerty ~ I do what I can!!!! Glad you got the good call...
Love ya sis,
Patty
2nice 02-25-2006, 05:56 PM Unfortunately we dont get alot of phone calls... one a week/fortnight. So when i do get them i really appreciate them. Now because when we do get them we dont have very much time to discuss anything in particular - just are able to say our 'I Love You's, i really do enjoy our letters and still hound the mailman daily... 5 years down the line!
SOOOOOO... im undecided on this one. I just love hearing from my baby! :p
Pooh'sgirl 02-26-2006, 06:40 PM I can't choose....I love the letters, I read them to shreds, but his low sexy voice....let me tell ya, if I had to do without without his voice, it:drool: would shrivel up like a prune forgood!!!
I just want more of everything!!!! (You know, this chaste, celibate life, I feel like I'm playing the leading part in the "Nun Story")
Hope no-one is offended by above.....
Nuro's Wife 02-27-2006, 09:53 AM Of course I love them both but with finances being an issue I voted for letters because we can say so much more in them and can send them much more often that we have the luxury of speaking to each other.

All the above and then some... :D
I couldn't live without our phone calls,letters and 12 visits a month!!!
I 'Rarely' miss one of his visits!!
W8NDY 02-27-2006, 08:39 PM I have to say I'm greedy and I want and like both.
Now that's got to be the WHOLE TRUTH.. lol :D
I'm greedy myself, I have to have it all.... nothing less but something more would be most appreciated.
Babygirlwaitin 02-28-2006, 08:42 AM I prefer talking on the phone! But i do loooove the letters too...they are two different entities
we've gone without the phone for stretches, if i had a choice between letters and phone it would be the phone!!!!
LadySlipper76 02-28-2006, 09:43 AM I have to say Im greedy and I want and like both.
I second that.:D I usually only get calls though. He rarely writes since I've been on his phone list. Truthfully, his letters are nice to get but I miss him more when I don't get a weekly phone call. Just ask my family, I drive them nuts when I don't hear from him. :p
could it be that dang "THIS CALL IS FROM AN INMATE IN A CALIFORNIA PRISON" recording that comes on every 5 minutes??? Like I couldn't remember all by myself that he's an inmate???
I hate that dumb recording. Lucky for me in fci it only comes on once. After that they beep every five minutes. Equally annoying when you aren't ready for it & cuts in right in the middle of something important. So you end up missing words they say. Or worse they beep twice in the span of like 5 minutes then cut off with no recording at all. Every time I always think "How rude." So you get about a 5 minute phone call. :(
IKEsBabyGIrl 02-28-2006, 10:39 PM I got to try this supersundayphonesex thing. I love to listen to Ike talk and i keep rememeber him saying when i am on visits what you do not want to look at all this prettiness he is so fine. i got to hear him talk i love his letters too but him wakeing me up in the morning woo wee :)
waitn4destiny 03-01-2006, 08:12 AM I haven't gotten a phone call therefore I voted letters. I would love to have calls, but I have a collect block on the phone that the phone company will not remove due to a 1500 bill that took me 6 months to pay off. Another story another time.
OMG I am so going to hook up with t-netix so he can call me direct, what I wouldn't give for a superphonesexsunday!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about living the celibate life, im already on full blown nun status. ITS BEEN TOOOOOOO LONG! Now, I still sit and wait 989 more days until oooooooOOOOOOOOooooooo YA!
He sends me 5 letters a week which have started to slow down now that he is working outside the facility 50-70 hours a week! I can deal with that, he will have enough money saved when he gets out to buy himself a brand new truck! :yay: I want that for him, it would make him happy! OK totally off subject! Im rambling today!
Pooh'sgirl 03-04-2006, 03:22 PM Girl, that ain't rambling, that's LOOOVE & LUST:D :D :D
redrocket1 03-04-2006, 03:30 PM Oh can I pick letters and phone calls? Well I agree with visits first of course! Nothing like being able to hug, talk, and just be with him while I stare into those sexy eyes! (hehe) I like letters cuz there's more time to express your deep feelings. Phone calls for a quick fix when I am missing him bad, can't visit, and just need to hear him say "I love you".
mrschris 03-06-2006, 05:59 PM well because i know specifically how it is in the inside, i prefer phone calls for safety reasons. i can talk to him right then and there, without waiting for the mailman to bring me mail (if he brings it that day). i know for a fact that he's ok. when he can call daily, i make him call at least 2 times a day, once early in the morning, once late at night right before lock in. that way i know he's ok. also...we can handle issues right then and there on the phone, without that 2-5 day gap time in between. i prefer phone calls hands down. but i wouldn't give up my letters...they keep us connected when the phone fails.
DeonsLady 03-06-2006, 06:03 PM I am greedy and undecided! But, if I had to choose, I would choose to hear Deon's sexy voice rather than read a letter an imagine it.
Rostonhall 03-12-2006, 01:19 AM I would just love to hear Tony's voice but, as Patty knows, Illinois doesn't allow overseas calls so we just have to make do with the letters, and the way the mail has been for the last year, that's hard.

LovelyLisa 04-05-2006, 11:47 AM I only started getting my calls yesterday (can you say I hate MCI really loud for me girls) and they are addictive but I am so attached to my letters. I take them to bed with me, I take them to the bath with me, I take them to work with me. I love my visits, I love my calls now but I could not and will not live without my letters. We are both into writing and mental stimulation and our letters get very deep.
Umm Aby 04-05-2006, 12:51 PM I live in ireland.............so no fone calls yet but i would love to here my baby's voice...hopefully soon,w'll wrk something out but for now/btw time...I have my letters! i can read them over and over again, pick out the little things, explore it...having letters are amazing! i love the letters!...
momfriendwife 04-06-2006, 04:29 PM For now letters. I've been there and done that with phone calls, the bills, the paranoia of where were you when I tried to call, you know. Sometimes calls add more drama than their worth. Don't get me wrong I love talking to him. hearing his voice. And every now and then I get a 3way, so for now that's how I like it.
queenbeas21 04-07-2006, 11:41 PM I'm with Red - need those phone calls for a quick fix, but the letters are to die for. I finally heard from him today (only the 4th time he's called since October) and will finally get to see him face to face for the first time in three months Sunday! So excited I can't sit still! :yay:
