To recap, I still don't know if my wedding is tomorrow and no one is returning my calls. The operator is sick of hearing my voice all morning already:ha: No one is answering their phones!

Ok, I called the chaplain,the operator,the visiting room, the marriage coordinator and no one is returning my calls so I am throwing in the towel. I think I have done all I can at this point. I don't even wanna get married anymore, I am so sick of this situation.

This totally sucks!!! I am sorry!! I think they tend to forget that this is our lives that they are dealing with...for them it is just another day, just another inmate.

at least return the call out of courtesy,huh? I will be happy whenever the date is. Just that with my luck, they reschedule it without informing us and we wont be there and then they make us wait like 6 more months. It takes me like 7 hours to drive up there so it's not like I can drop everything and be there in an hour.

Okay, I found it. Somebody's gotta let Eliz know so she can find us on Monday.

Okay, are we renaming ourselves or what? I love making stuff up and I'm babysitting my 3 year old nephew and he's watching monster trucks and may have fallen asleep with any luck since it is 12:18a so I'll throw some thoughts out for names!!! This kid never sleeps! I love him so though. He's still awake, but at least he's not making me go in there! LOL

My son is 3 and he sleeps late too. I'm trying to get him to sleep earlier. He's been doing better since I started school. His butt will be in preschool sooner than soon and hopefully he will sleep earlier then. The thing is I get him on a schedule but he goes to spend the weekend with his dad and comes back wild.

I also think we need to rename ourselves. We'll wait till Monday when Elizabeth and Elyka sign back on.

Oh, about the wedding :rolleyes: I got a letter from the man yesterday and he's like "call them and get a date asap". Hmmm, what did he think I was doing all week? I wrote back and says "YOU go get us a date for the wedding. I've called everyone already with no luck".For those guys getting married today:blah:. In case I forget to say, next week I am NOT gonna call anymore coz I've had it. Not gonna stress myself for no reason again this week.

Oh get this. On Friday the operator ( rocket scientist also) says I have to call Saturday to the visiting room to see if my wedding is on Saturday.:ha: Now if he will give me a magic wand so I can zap my butt over there in a second...

I cant believe that the operator said for you to call on Saturday! What are you supposed to do hop on your plane and fly there!! elizabeth is there today so she will be able to tell us if some one got married or not. Oh wait she usually gets there after 12 ...so maybe not. Oh well we have to wait til she gets back on Monday

Had a swell time with the nephew last night. He fell asleep about 12:45a and my brother came about 12:47a! :eek: I can't get over how much that kid loves watching car races and he's not even 3 until May! So smart - smartest one of all my niece and nephews and the two oldest were pretty darn smart at that age! He still isn't into the potty, but at least he tells you when he wants his diaper changed. ;) I get the biggest kick out of that because I ask him if he wants to go to the potty and he says no. Then I ask him if he wants to do it in his diaper and he says yes he wants to do it in his diaper. I asked him if he wanted his diaper changed and he said no. So, I escaped changing a diaper! :yay:

Lov, hopefully someone at some point will call you Monday. I bet you get three or four calls! LOL I'd say call today, but it's already 3:15p and visiting is over. No matter - take a deep breath and we'll figure this out for you.

i think i really don't get visits back with ben until april 2nd because his letter said 39 more days until he can hug and kiss me and that was dated the 22nd and that does bring it to april 2nd. :blah: that means another stinking 36 more days as of today! :angry:

April 2nd will be here sooner than soon. You'll probably see him before I get married. LOL. Maybe those guys didn't get married yesterday either!! Lord knows what is going on except that "IT IS SCREWED UP!!!!".

And I am serious about not calling anymore. They all got my messages and apparently didn't care to return the calls. They aint answering it either so it is just gonna be a waste of time.

I don't mean to be a sticky wicket but would it be too much to ask to consider the fact that everyone here may NOT be a lady? OOPS, guess that is a character value, lets say everyone here may not be FEMALE.

I'm in Ohio and my Significant Other, my Partner, my Better Half happens to be a male and in MCSP. I don't get militant about the same sex thing and I really appreciate this site and everyone has been just incredible. This ladies only kind of thing makes me feel a bit like an outsider!

We have to be somewhat careful for my partner's safety as far as being "OUT" and I'm sure if I posted our picture on this forum you'd all roll your eyes and realize that we've possibly met in the processing room or visiting room in B yard. Since he has about 10 years left after winning an appeal and losing a retrial he's kind of just said screw them all and SAYS he doesn't care who knows...but the last thing I would want to do is put his safety at risk. The COs know what our relationship is and they wouldn't expose that but it is some of the less broad minded inmates that could cause problems. ANYHOO! I like being a part of this PTO place, but I ain't no lady! LOL!

Sorry if we upset you in any way with the "ladies" reference. I was just overly excited about having our little room to ourselves and wanted to start a chat thread coz we were chatting in the "First visit to mule creek" thread coz we were in a common forum back then. Plus I was upset about the wedding.

To recap I was venting to everyone about my wedding date. It was suppose to be on the 18th. They chaplain called in sick so it was cancelled and till today we are not given another date. Also no one is returning any calls. They are saying there is no chaplain to perform the ceremony. Oh well...

Also Rodg, you were the one that used to pay almost $20 a phone call, huh? When I read that I almost fell off my chair. So when are you visiting again? I visit in yard A and once in a while so I don't think I've met you in the processing room yet.

So Luv, no offense taken! Guess I'm getting older and am tired of not being included in so many things in life because I've chosen to accept who I am and be alright with it! I'm hoping to be there on March 25th to visit. We're both so excited about it we can't stand it! I used to visit every other month but had my business arsoned and the trips across country just got too expensive. Back on track now, just hate that visiting has dropped from four days to two. I'm really excited for you that you might have the opportunity to get married. I can't even hold hands ;?( I get my little 30 second hug going in and one going out and that's the extent of it. Never been one to flaunt my lifestyle but lord its hard to deal with having to be in a closet after being out of one for so many years.

So, I guess my objection was heard...love this PTO. There aren't many people I can talk to about US and it is easier not feeling alone someplace. I really appreciate the support and so far open minded people...though I suspect it will only be a matter of time before someone shows their butt! LOL!

Maybe I should call and see if they'd let US get married :eek:

hey you know, it should be equal. My best friend and his partner signed some papers over in West Hollywood. He says it is so they can make major decisions for each other in case something bad happened and it will be legal (do I make sense? lol).

I can't visit often coz of financial issues but I know how you feel when you get there. Do you usually get there real early like me since we don't get terminated for the distance?

Rod, we feel your pain. Must be extremely difficult for one to be so far away and two not to be able to shout it from the rooftops. One can only hope society gets with the program one day and leave everybody to their own lives. It appears I won't be visiting until April 2nd since my honey's been in the dungeon and won't get visits back until then. He did mention something about volunteering for extra duty and says he'll ask when he goes to classification. Can't wait - poor guy's been in the dungeon since January 8th all because he didn't want to take his sleeping pill at 5:00p one night. I hope you enjoy your visit on March 25th. We'll try to refrain from mentioning the word ladies on this thread. Lov is a love and poor thing has been through the ringer trying to get married. She meant no disrespect. There are four of us that are real tight and we bounce all over the place and she probably thought we were in our own little thread. Keep the faith, dude! We're here for all of us.

Lov, I don't think it would take more than a week to 10 days once the paperwork went through to get a chaplain type in there. We can talk more later.

So, what do you think about calling it MCSP Chat Groupies, MCSP Chat Friends, MCSP Chat Buddies, MCSP Chatters, MCSP Chat Lovers, MSCP Chat or if anybody can think of anything else that goes with MCSP Chat - speak your peace. Elyka and Ms, I will be so glad when you're back online tomorrow! We can do the poll for those names if you're all liking that idea. Elyka will keep the list or I'll be happy to keep the list and assign numbers and whatever anybody wants to do since my computer is a part of me and I can keep everything electronically and send it to Elyka if she wants it. Morning Everyone;) !! I hope you all had a good weekend. I has a good weekend. Saturday I took my daughters pictures! I went to WalMart. I was skeptical about it at first but my mother in law said they did a good job. I ended up spending $71. But it was all worth it. They will be ready the 16th. I will post them when I get them. Yesterday my family went to Shaver Lake to play in the snow. It was so beautiful up there. There wasn't too many people because there was a chance that it was gonna rain. We had a great time.

what's the point of calling when no one answers the phone or returns messages, huh? it will just fustrate me more and i can do without. The thing is I wanna visit this weekend and wanna know if my wedding will be in March or April. If it is in March then I will wait to visit but if it is April then I will go this weekend. This is why I want them to call me. So I wont feel like I am jerked around. Anyone knows someone in that prison that can pull some strings?

$80 is not bad for photos. One time I spent like over $100 for the photos. Cant wait to see them.

Howdy ho and happy stinking Monday to you all! Hope everyone had a swell weekend. It's raining and the wind is blowing like a hurricane! LOL Not that bad, but pretty close. They say it's supposed to gust up to 60 mph. Just got back from the interviews. I feel they went well. The head honcho, Fran, is a horse of a different color, but I can get along with rocks ;) so I'm sure I could win her over. I really want this job!!!!! :yes: Please pray for me. :o Getting home was a feat in itself. There's two freeways in this town and the entrance to 101 was backed up a mile so I went on down to 280. Get halfway there and I'm backed up on 92, but not too bad. Finally get home after being blown all over the freeway and my exit is backed up. I had to go to the post office to drop off stationery supplies for Ben so I lucked out and just drove, yet again, more miles out of the way to avoid the mess. So, I'm home and I'm waiting for the dryer to finish so I can put on my nice warm valour sweats. My house is freezing!

Elizabeth is MIA this morning :). She's probably busy at work since she took Friday off and today is Monday. I wanna go Elyka but I'll be damned if they reschedule the wedding for March then I wont have money to go up again twice in a month!

oh, I will find out the outcome of my midterm tonight. The one where these two guys got a hold of my code. My other prof. said there is also a software that can intercept emails. So they are trying to figure out how they got a hold of my work. At least they know the guys copied my work and not the other way around.

I spoke to the registrar and she said if they lower my grade (penalize me for this fiasco), I can go make a complaint with the student affair chick. I do work study in the registrar's office so they are completely behind me on this one. I'll keep you all posted.

Also it is raining here in LA also right now.

I think Ben can get a package this quarter if he's out of the dungeon, but I'm not a 100% sure since he said he privileges were reinstated, but we can't visit until April 2nd. So now I have to wait for him to explain everything fully. Even if he can get a package this quarter, I'm the one who needs the package this time! LOL

Well, my letter today is only dated the 23rd and he still hasn't received his report so I hope he got it Friday or today. He seems to think he'll go to classification this Thursday so maybe he'll be out of the dungeon before the weekend. That would be swell for him, but he's still counting down the days until we can have a contact visit and it's still April 2nd. Do you think I'll get a full 6 hours if I go on April 2nd since if I can hold out I will not have seen him since February 4th and the last contact visit was January 7th? I only live 123 miles away. I would give anything for a nice long visit. :yes: Maybe I should call visiting, huh, lov! LMAO

Poor baby is so out of envelopes and I only got to mail some today. Will probably two weeks before he gets them. I sure hope somebody takes pity on him and loans him some.

Speaking of mail - he hasn't gotten a letter from me since the 17th so the holiday, as usual, messed up mail delivery in that place.

I won't get a letter now until Wednesday because they don't pick it up on Fridays and Saturdays. I miss my baby so very many times! :cry:

You guys are terriffic! LOL I feel SO included...all warm and fuzzy but not quite (ever) "One of the girls" LMAO!!!

So first off I'll open up just a little. I met my soul mate and partner on Writeaprisoner.com Man did we hit it off! So I'm thinking I just wanted to write to a guy in prison since I'd been there myself and I could relate. Next I thought gay or bisexual since I had been married and had kids. So I find this REALLY hot guy and I think, crappo man, he'll never be interested in someone like me, he's 19 years younger incredibly smart, and built like a brick outhouse. I'm pretty average, a few extra pounds blah, blah,blah. Well, we REALLY hit it off and a year or so later he asked if he could call me. OK, of course I said yes. During the call he was a little nervous and told me he needed to talk to me on the phone because it was too important for a letter..Here goes...he used the "L" word! Well I about died, so much for my feeling of being safe from involvement with this hottie. Now its been six years! So he has an ex-girlfriend (who despises me) that visits every Sunday and is finally cool with our relationship. He's told me many times that he doesn't care what the COs know but he trys to keep things quiet with the other inmates. His cellie knows and is cool with it. I'm truly a lucky guy! Never in my life experienced so much love from one person.

I'm an antique dealer and August before last I was trying to help out a guy who was pretty saavy with antiques and on disability. He would come in and open the shop and do lamp repairs while I traveled doing antique shows. Well, long story short, he was fleecing the store and set it on fire 10 minutes after I left one day just to cover his tracks. I have about lost everything because you can't get insurance for an antique store. So, it has now been over a year since we've visited in person...we're both going nuts!

FINALLY...Thanks to all of you for taking me in and being my new friends...hardly anyone I can even talk to about him. Most of my friends (poor dumba..es think he works for the State of California in Security and can't leave because he has a 10 year contract! LMAO it works!

You're not the only one in the closet (no pun intended) about your man. About 4 people know he's in prison. My family would sh*t if they knew I was involved with him again. I love this site because here nobody judges you for nothing and we all support each other as much as we can.

This weekend was very eventful to say the least. As you are all aware of Friday was my day off so I thought I would get a lot done . . . right?!?! NOT!!!! I dropped off the girls at school and then . . . the car died. =o(

I had a friend help me get the car to the shop. Five hours and $354.00 later. The car runs. Well I received a call from my foster child's school. She was sick so I had to go and get her and take her to her grandma's. I drop her off and the car starts acting up again. I stop at a stop light because it's red it turns green and I start to go. . . sirens. . . yes I got pulled over for speeding. He said he had been following me for miles. In the city yeah right. Besides my car doesn't go that fast and it was on it's last leg as it is. If anything I was driving like a grandma. (no offense to the grandma's out there) lol

Any way I am now pissed off I go back to the car shop get my car fixed and I'm on my way.

Well I received a call from my love. He said he needed to talk so he would be calling that night. Well at 6:45 I decide to go and gas up for my trip in the morning. I pull into AM/PM as a green car is pulling out. I start to pump my gas and then this old man signals me to move, WHILE I'M PUMPING! Well I couldn't he just didn't want to go reverse. So he RAMMED into my car!!!! =o(

I called 911 they came out an hour later and arrested him for assault with a deadly weapon and child endangerment. Because he said he knew that the girls were in the car and he didn't care.

I left AM/PM at 9:30 PM I missed all of his calls and of course he was worried.

Saturday: I got up early, my girls were not cooperating. We got to MC at 12:00 got in at 12:30. We had a nice visit. He was on his BEST behavior. He even told me to behave for a change. WHO WAS THIS and what did you do to him???? Well he said he received my letter and I had asked him to be good so that we do not get our visits taken away so he was really trying. GOSH I really wanted to mess with him like he messes with me. He makes me a nervous wreak because I don't want to get in trouble. It was really cute. Because as our visit went on I think he realized how hard it is for me to pull away when I really want to hold him closer. To have to tell him stop when you really want more. =o) We had a nice visit!

Saturday night there was a gathering of families from MC at Mimi's. We had a really nice time. I hope you guys can join us next time. Just to be able to gather in a non prison setting and vent. We had a lot of fun laughing and sharing.

Sunday:

We woke up late rushed to breakfast. We wore capris, flip flops and St Patrick's Day ts from Old Navy. As a sign that March is finally HERE! Well it was freezing. Saturday was such a beautiful day that I never imagined it would be windy and cold. Any way the girls looked really cute. We had a nice visit. The officer that we had problems with last weekend didn't say a word to me all weekend. There was no reason it either. I was able to just relax and enjoy our visit.

BTW: Saturday I did see the chaplain, not in our yard, but I saw him process in. =o(

Today has been a mess. The guy that hit me; his insurance company is not cooperating. They want him to open/file the claim. HOW IS HE FROM JAIL??? I need to get my car fixed. I dealt with that all morning. Then I got pissed off and called my attorney. He will be handling it from here. I'm sure they will be singing a new tune by tomorrow.

Ok so are we keeping the same numbers? What do I need to change my signature block too? Is this going to be the only place we are going to write in now???

I need a little bit of advice...I told my husband the other day that it made me uncomfortable that he was talking to his brother. He has called him a few times. You see his brother is still very involved in drugs and the drug lifestyle. As I have said before my husband is a recovering addict and without going into too much detail when he was home he got back into drugs and his brother DIDN'T make it any harder to get them. So when I told him that it made me uncomfortable he got kinda defensive. He said "Fine I wont ever talk to him again" Now the way he said it was kind of condesending. I told him there was no reason for him to get upset that I was expressing to him how I felt. Then he went on to say that he was upset because I didnt trust him. I told him that it was his brother that I dont trust. Well now that I have had time to think about things...I dont trust him. He broke that trust and it is his responsibility to gain that back. right? How do I bring this up to him without him getting angry?

My ex husband was an addict too. It's HARD to live with an addict. It also doesn't help to have it tempting you if you are an addict. In 2004 my ex (we were still together) got arrested for possession. He didn't have to do jail time because of the proposition (forgot what number) and he had to go to counseling and AA or NA meetings and he will be on probation for several years. When dealing with drugs, there is no way to go about it without having people's feelings hurt.(my opinion). At least this is a wake up call for him. I so feel for you Elyka.

Rodg, I love a good love story. So we all have a hot man inside that prison. Also next month will be the first visit in a year? Boy, I thought I have it bad with 1 visit every 3 months. By the way, I was born in Ohio although I never really lived there. I still have family there.
I met my man when he was already in also, but I met him through his family.

Oh Rodg, my friends thinks my man works in Sacramento (well he works in the yard at the prison ;).) - I'm not really lying. But this is also the only place I can talk about the situation and not get judged or commented on.

Q - I got the result from my exam just now and I got 54/55. She didn't penalize me, I got one true/false wrong. She said Next time! you know what not to do. You and Rodg will see your hunks before I get married. And you wanna call the visiting room? LOL you are funny. so they wont return your calls and piss you off? Well, I just got back from having dinner with my friend, Christine. I went to a shopping center I hadn't been to in years and they remodeled it to the point where the parking lot is one way! Didn't help that I was driving in the pouring rain! I walked for miles it seems and ended up not finding the restaurant where my friend said it was. I ended up having to walk outside and was soaking wet to the bone by the time I got to the restaurant! Reminded me of when I was in Italy looking for my father's home town! We had a nice visit and got caught up on stuff.

Ms, talk about when it rains it pours! I am so sorry about the car breaking down, the ticket and the smash-up. At least you got all three bad things out of the way at the same time, so you should be good to go from now on! I hope this week brings peace and happiness. At least you got to visit with no problems which is always a good thing.

Lov, I am so glad you got a swell grade and that you weren't penalized! You didn't need more aggravation dealing with having to challenge had they made a stink about it. You go, girl!

El, when Ben got into trouble for not taking the sleeping pill (violation that got him thrown in the hole) and had his cellie call me to tell me, I got all paranoid. Ben is an ex-addict too and things the cellie was saying was scarring me. So, I asked Ben some questions. Ben got all bent out of shape and said I turned on him and why do I try to put him down every chance I get. Well, that was his interpretation of what I asked. I was just asking questions and not accusing. As the one's who've read my story know, I've already been through this relapse deal with him once before so as much as I'm trying to believe in him, I still worry too. What I did was go to see him and discuss it with him. I told him that I wasn't accusing him of anything and that he should pay attention to what I write instead of seeing what he wanted to see. I told him, too, that I was still here wasn't I and didn't that mean something? Also the fact I made the trek to see him behind glass just to straighten things out meant I cared (my least favorite thing in life is to go to a prison, but whacha gonna do - it's not like he can come to see me!). We both talk continuously about having open communication and how important it is to us. I told him that he broke the pact by jumping to conclusions instead of asking me to explain further if he was confused. So, my suggestion to you to handle it with your man is to do it in person and not on the telephone. Tell him how much you love him and believe in him. That a strong relationship is based on communication and that you hope you can talk to him about anything and vice versa. That when you hear something that doesn't jive with what you know that you will ask questions. That doesn't mean you're accusing, you just want clarification so there are no misunderstandings. It's hard, but don't let him know how worried you are. If he thinks you have doubts, that may fuel his own insecurities and possibly drive him to doing something foolish again after his release because he figures everybody thinks he's gonna screw up - he might as well do it. It's a psychological game unfortunately, but they need all the bolstering of their confidence they can get to really want to change. I hope that helps you.

El: Sorry to hear about him not understanding your feelings. Sometimes you have to talk to them in a way that you explain "if the shoe were on the other foot" wouldn't you feel the same way. Explain to him that you are trying to let out your feeling so that he can help you work through them. Through reassurance, not defensiveness. Remind him of everything you guys go through becuase of the past and you just don't want it to happen again. Tell him that you want him to be a part of his brother's life, but that it's going to take some time for you to trust that his brother wont tempt him. Overall do it in person and don't let it end on a bad note. Remind him of what is important to him. You, the baby, and his life. Remind him that he doesn't belong there and that you want to prevent it from ever happening again. Remember guilty feeling from the past sometimes come out defensively. I'm sure he feels bad that you are out here doing it all alone. I'm here for you if you need to talk. It's best to get all of these feeling out now and work through them than to ignore them and have them explode when he gets out. I'm proud of you for having to courage to say "yeah I'm not comfortable with your relationship with your brother right now" essentially that is all you said. He just took it the wrong way. You were being honest to yourself and to him. Sometimes the trust hurts.

Our family visit application sat on the counselor desks for almost 2 weeks before he even looked at it. My husband saw it there and the counselor even said he hadn't looked at it. If my husband wasnt going to his office every week to follow up it would have just sat there!

Mine was ok I took the girls to Chucky Cheese. Tonight we plan to scrapbook. I'm going to finish copying my pictures from the prison. By the time he is out we should have at least 500, we are over 300 right now. Gosh that is a lot of money. You figure the guy taking the pictures would have to have some type of photograph class. lol Well he sure does need one.
I won't here from my love until Thursday night and I'm missing him today. Maybe I'll get a message when I get home. =o)

howdy ho everyone! yeah, missing my guy so much. i'm feeling bad because he was hoping i'd show up last week and this past weekend to visit and i just can't handle that communication system behind the glass. he's all happy because he can hear me just fine, but he has no clue i can't hear half of what he says! still no final copy of his violation report as of the 26th so don't know if he got it this week yet or not. tomorrow would be classification and i don't know if they move them immediately or not. his current cellie went to classification last week and asked about him and they said he was definitely going back to A yard. so, it's just a matter of time as to when. contact visits are scheduled to go back in the saddle as of april 2 unless he can convince them to give them back sooner.

does anybody know if i will get a full 6 hour visit once he's released because it's been so dang long or will i get terminated because i only live 123 miles away? i did visit behind the glass feb. 4, but haven't been back since in the hopes i can get the 6 hours. if there's no chance of that, i will break down and go see him because i feel like ET in that my heart light is waning and i need a benjy fix!

Usually do the priceline.com thing and stay where ever is cheapest. Get a rental car and plane ticket the same way and the car usually has unlimited mileage. I'm thinking of staying at the Best Western in Jackson...where ever that is. Anybody that can give me info on the quality of that hotel it would be appreciated. Last time I got a priceline deal on a motel in Sacramento, the picture looked fine, and older motel. When I got there I realize immediately that the picture was as old as I was! Not bad though. Freezing rain tonight! Ugh!

Oh yeah ladies, my MCI phone calls from MCSP to Cleveland were 19.70 for 15 minutes. Prisoncallsonline now to my cell phone is 8.00 for a 15 minute call! Love it!

I've met people that stayed at the Best Western in Jackson. They said it is nice. I think there is a Denny's there too. Jackson is close to the prison. I am excited for you Rodg. When I prepare my trip from LA, I get so excited but at around 2 am driving, I always curse under my breath. LOL.

My only hope, obewan kanobe, is that he stays there until April 1st as I shouldn't be sending packages when i'm out of work! :banghead: However, I'd sooner eat pork and beans than have him in the penthouse suite any longer than he has to. there's a fella he knows quite well that goes in and out of the dungeon like a subway train and he gets physical with people. I asked when I went to see him on February 4 how that other fella always gets in and out fast. He said that he gives up names. Not right on two counts - one being a rat, and two getting out in a few days for a violent act and my baby stuck for nearly two months for not taking a sleeping pill! No justice even in prison!

Hey Lov (and everyone else :D ) My story is looonnnggg and I'm tired, so here's it in a nutshell! My guy and I have known each other for 28 years, yes, I said 28 yrs! We started off as friends for many, many, years and always kinda had a "thing" for each other, but we were always involved with other people so it never went any further than that. Well, after 13 yrs of friendship, the time finally arrived when neither of us were involved with someone else. At that point we were both single parents and started to do "kid" things together. So, long story short, we started "officially" dating, got engaged, and seven years later were married. We have a beautiful child together, we're a yours, mine and ours family. I miss him so much right now, but know that there is a reason for all of this and we will be together again some day. We write to each other every night and share our days with each other just like we would if we were together at home. He is my soulmate, and I'm his. Okay, gonna stop now cause I'm gonna cry. So excited to be here and glad we have our own forum now! Looking forward to getting to know you all! :thumbsup:

I'm doing fine. Still have the stupid litta cold, but not bad at all for which I am grateful. Got a letter dated the 27th and he still hasn't received that goofy report! Says he hopes he's on the classification schedule for today. Even if he gets out today, he tells me they have to go to orientation for 10 days which means he's locked down. So, I still won't know because he wouldn't be able to call. So until I get a letter with the poop, I'm still in suspended animation!

Hi everyone. I have had an awful morning. My husband called last night and said that we we NOT approved for family visits and in fact I was not approved for regular visiting either :( I cried! I havent cried that much since he got arrested. I am devasted. Apparently I have an old ticket from 2003 that I thought was taken care of by the attorney. Well it wasn't and now I have a warrant! :eek: Yes I said a WARRANT! I have an appointment with the attorney for Monday at 5pm. I could only imagine my getting pulled over with my daughter in the car. Part of this is my fault, I never called to follow up on what happened. I am soo mad at myself right now.

Awwww, El, what horrible news! Did all this come to light because of the family visit request? Do you have to start from scratch to get approved for visiting again? Will it be taken care of once the ticket is handled? Oh, hon, I feel your pain. Will say extra prayers this is handled quickly.

Yes, it was because of the family visit app process. I just dont understand this because I was approved to visit when he was in reception in October. I have gotten a few speeding tickets in the last few months. Why didn't it come up then? I will have to submit a new visitor application when I get this cleared up and we all know how long that could take!

I guess I should look at the bright side and be glad that I found this out this way and not while I was driving with my daughter.

OMG EL: That is so CRAZY!!!! I have an IDEA though!!!! Your license is suspended, but you can still get in with a STATE ID! You can apply and put down your state ID # as your form of ID. They will still let you in with a valid State ID. Does your mother-in-law/father-in-law drive?

Well everyone, I'm hoping to talk to my love tonight. Anyone on A yard have messages for their loved ones that I can relay PM me. It's been a crazy day. About three months ago I had a bump on my finger, my Dr. told me to keep an eye on it and she said it was a blood vessel. Well a couple of weeks ago it burst. Last Monday I went into the Dr. because any little thing would make it bleed and it hurt like hell. Well he said it was a wart and treated it as such even though I told him it wasn't. He burned it which stopped the bleeding, but it grew and grew and turned colors until it burst. So Thursday I had to go back to my regular Dr. who said, What did he do??? She sent me to a dermetologist who today, stuck a huge needle in my little pinky and cut the huge bump off. The needle hurt like hell, but at least I wont feel uncomfortable holding hands anymore and my love wont have to worry about bumping it anymore.

Let me start by saying what ever can go wrong will. I also attempted to go to the bank. My employer screwed up on my check last month so this month I got 4 checks. 3 plus my regular. Well I was running early to my dr. appointment so I decided to go to the bank and deposit my checks. Easy enough RIGHT?!?!?!?!?! WRONG. I deposited the first check, no problem, the second went in fine, the third took it too. Well those were all of my little checks. When I went to deposit my paycheck, it said "you have exceeded your daily limit." What the HELL is that suppose to mean? I looked for the hidden camera and didn't have time to figure it out so I left. After my appointment I went to another bank to deposit my check. Once again I got "you have exceeded your daily limit." I was pissed off. I went into the bank to see what was going on. They said they recently placed a limit on the amount of deposits you can make a day because with every check that you deposit you can take out $100.00 and there were people who were taking out money that wasn't there. Making fake deposits.

Common sense would say to penalize them right??? Or at least reconfigure there system so that you can't withdraw. But NO!!! They have decided to just not take deposits. SO I bank with the only bank in the world that won't take your money!!! Isn't that CRAZY!!!!!

You can't even deposit into your other accounts and then transfer funds. There is no way around it. =o( Sorry just venting! =o)

BTW: Have you guys heard of the new SB 1642 Three Strikes Reform Act? Senator Gloria Romero introduced the bill to the legislature this morning. I know that most of us are fortunate enough to have a loved one that has an out date, but there are many people in prison that have no hope. Some have even been left by their loved ones because there was no hope. Please keep those families in prayer that there will be some type of reform. Remember not everyone is guilty.

Please don't judge me, I may be foolish, but who am I to judge. I see hope in the lost. Everyone makes mistakes. Most of the ones under the three strikes are the murders or serial killers, they are petty theft and drug users and or abusers.

I am pro-reform. My loved one has never hurt anyone and he has done more time total that a murder. Change must happen, the punishments do not fit the crime. Something has got to give.

Q: They don't really chat, unless there is a heated agreement/disagreement regarding something that is going on at the prison. The are the "JUST THE FACTS" people. Wish I could give you a message to pass, but alas, baby boy is on C Yard which is where the Dungeon is. He is now getting antsy to get the heck outta there. He's been real cool and calm, but I think it's beginning to really bother him when he's seeing everybody with greater offenses coming and going in a few days to a few weeks and he's still sitting there with that dang pill on his tongue! Worst part is that he swallowed the darn thing right then and there on the spot and he still got written up for a greater violation than what it was. Would sure like to see that IFC do something about that kind of stuff.

MsElizabeth - Do you bank with Bank of America by any chance. If you do, close that account FAST!!! I refuse to walk into a Bank of America till I die. I bank with Washington Mutual and they rock! I went to BA to cash a $15 check from the welfare office (the check is a BA check) and they wanted to charge me $5 for cashing it since I dont have an account with them. What the heck is that? Whatever! Ouch for that little finger. At least it is finally taken care of. Poor thing.

Elyka - Sorry. At least you get the warrant taken care of. Was the warrant based on a moving violation? Coz my ex got a bench warrant on one of his tickets and he went to court and the judge gave him more time to pay. But one last time only. Someone did an identity theft on my ex husband and the DMV issued him a new DL number. Anyhoo, everytime he gets pulled over (which here in LA is everyday...hello, a bald Mexican cholo) the cops can't open his info based on that DL number. The only way is to call Sacramento and have that DMV pull up his file and they are only open during business hours. so they think it is fake or something. It has been 5 years and the DMV still havent resolved this issue. And the person that is using his SSN to work is in Stockton according to the IRS. So for the past 3-4 years he has not gotten a tax refund but bills coz that jerk will file first and get a huge refund. The IRS wants my ex to pay back that money?!! WTF.. So I knew we were gonna break up so I stop helping him resolve this issue towards the end of 2004. Why help him. He is gonna get that big refund and spend it with his bit$$. Let her resolve it. So Elyka...things will get resolved. You will get approved faster than my marriage date. When I first applied, I was so dumb, I didn't realize my DL expired so I got denied but they sent me a letter along with it stating that I can make a copy of my new license and send it to them along with that letter. Hey gang! I don't think I have had a day off in over a year so I ditched work today...ok, no biggie, I'm self employed! We had freezing rain last night and this morning and then snow all day. I had the cable guy coming to install today and a repairman in all day repairing plaster (I ain't really the tool type guys!). So I cleaned and sorted laundry, cleaned cupboards and all that crap...I love the seven bedrooms and three baths but when it comes time to clean! Yish!

I'm planning on flying into Sacramento on the 24th and staying in Jackson for the weekend then flying back to Ohio on the 27th. If I can help anyone get to Mule Creek don't hesitate to let me know. I don't mind if you help with gas, the mileage on the rental car is unlimited. Would be great to go out to dinner with some of you sometime that weekend. Anyone here visit on yard B ?

OF COURSE all of this visit depends on getting approved in time. I got my certificate of completion of parole and sent that with my letter asking for visiting privliges four days ago by priority mail. I am so sorry to hear about "Eii's" visiting situation. That has GOT to be horrible.

I was suposed to hear from "the felon" on Monday night and didn't hear from him for three days. FINALLY he called me tonight and told me that there had been a power outage from the storms there and that they had to reset the phones. Said he got a call through to his friend there for about 4 minutes and she informed him that I had emailed her and was concerned. He told me to quit worrying about the move to Folsom, he's NOT GOING ANYWHERE! Boy did I feel like I had egg on MY face! So EASY to worry about everything when I'm so far away. I smoothed it over with "Honey, if I didn't Love you so much I wouldn't worry so much." It worked!

Well, the house is still turned upside down and I'll probably sleep on the couch in the den tonight...ok...new cable TV! Ya'll take care and keep in touch!

Lovingyou, That's cool to think I'd be there when you get married! I did have to apply all over again. Had to send the warden a letter requesting visiting privleges and send a certificate sealed by the State of Ohio indicating that my incarceration and parole were completed 20 years ago! I sent it on Monday by USPS Priority Mail and asked in the letter that it be expedited if possible. I want to get out of the cold about as bad as I want to visit my man! Dinner sounds great!

Yeah :yay: rodg made an appearance! I had the cable guys out yesterday for a couple of hours. Newbies - worked like litta doggies and finally got what they messed up fixed! LOL Storm fried one of my boxes. While I was at it, had the lead they made come cover fix the disconnecting internet problem. He unplugged my router and now life is good. Also good I have a firewall I turned back on so I'm happier than a god*mn lark not having to stop production every two hours and reboot.

All this visiting approval trauma. You poor people. God was on my side as Benny sent the paper, filled the puppy out, sent it back to visiting and 10 days later I get jail mail saying I was good to go. So, I hope everybody gets a date for something soon!

Even I'll come up to visit on the 25th if we all get together for dinner. I get an hour, but they let me have two the last time so I can make the appointment for like 1:00p and that way I can get my nails and toes done in the morning and still drive up there by 12:30p. Lov, after we talked about the Penthouse Suite, I sat down and wrote up over 50 different exotic or funny places and think I'll start putting them on the letter every night. I put Penthouse Suite last night and tonight I think 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is next on the list. If anybody can think of anything funny or cute let me know so I can add it to my list. I spoil my baby as much as I can, and I send love songs to him in every letter too! Have a list of nearly 250 song titles. Only need about 350 more to get me through his release date! If anybody wants either of those lists, holler. I'm happy to share and you can all get credit for my hard work! LOL You'll have to look up the lyrics yourselves though since I just keep the titles on the list. Also, if anybody wants the calendar I made for him too, I'm happy to send that as well.

I Bank at BofA and I agree - rat bast*rds, all of them! They charged me like $6 or $7 for the cashier's check I sent to Ben when he checked into the Penthouse. I didn't get charged when I sent the $35 at Christmas so go figure and the first check was not even at my branch! The second one was so I am very irritated. I'm supposed to be considered a VIP so one of these days I'm going to complain to somebody if I ever have the time. No clue how my account status got changed. Hey Q, they charged you $6 for a cashier's check? If you had known, you could've gone to the 7-eleven or liquor store and get a money order for less than $1. I am telling you, pull out your million dollars saving from BofA. Go with Washington Mutual. Everything is free. Wells Fargo play games too.

I emailed that yahoo group about no one calling me back from the prison. We'll see if anyone can help me get a call. How unprofessional.

Also, does anybody know if there's a bus up to MC? I heard there was a bus that drives you up there and the cost even includes a hotel room for the night. Anybody else hear about that?

I heard that you can take the greyhound and there is a van from the prison that will pick you up from the greyhound station. Maybe if you call the New Beginnings trailer. They are very helpful and very patient. For my first visit, they gave me a bunch of hotel numbers, directions and other tips. The lady was even worried coz I told her I was driving through the night with the baby ( he was 15 months then). She told me to make sure I stop by and say hi to her so that she knows I got there safely. They are only there Sat. and Sun. and the number is 209-274-4749. They probably can give you more info.

Morning! Thanks guys you are all so sweet. I am doing much better today than yesterday. I cant believe how much I freaked out at the thought of not being able to go see him. I swear I love that man. I talked to him yesterday like 3 times so that made me feel better too. I got the letter from the visiting sargent yesterday and it says that once I get this cleared up I need to send them proof then I can be reinstated to visit! All is not lost! So I hope that it will just be a couple of weeks.

The warrent was for a traffic violation. It was driving with a suspended license. The judge told me I had to get my own attorney. I got one. I meet with him gave him all my paperwork. I talked to his office once after that and that was the end of it. I never followed up and they never called me. I guess out of sight out of mine! huh! When I called the attorneys office they said that they do see my in their computer system that my file was opened in 2003 and closed in 2005. They said they are going to have to pull the file from storage. You know the letter from the visiting sargent said that I had last been approved for visting privilages in 1997. That was when my friend sent in my applicaiton for me to go with her to visit her boyfriend at the time. So that means that since that first application they never checked anything again. Because the next time I sent in an application was in 2000 to go see my husband. Strange!

Elizabeth I am with ya on the reform.

My husband is a two striker. This law has a great effect on our lives. When he got in trouble this last time it was for a non violent crime and he could have faced 25 to life. I was horrified. I thought I was losing my husband forever. The judge agreed to a Romero motion which means that they ignore the previous strikes for sentencing. He said it would be "cruel and unusual punishment to give 25 to life". Thank GOD!
In retrospect my husband knows he is lucky. He had a cellie once that was doing 25 to life for stealing a sweater. That was the cellie he had when he paroled. He said that the day he left his cellie didn't even get up to or talk to him. There are so many of are doing ridiculous amounts of time that do not fit the crime!! Something needs to be done. More than half of the people in prison are there because of drugs or have mental problems. They need to focus on addressing those issues then maybe the return rate would decrease. I read somewhere that 8 out of 10 men will return to prison. Why?.... Because there is no type of rehabilitation in prison. There is nothing to teach them how to make it on the outside. They have no skills or their skills are outdated.

yeah they have no skills and no one is giving them a hand to help them out. Not just giving money, but offering to give them job training and help them find a job coz a lot of places dont hire felons. Then they get fustrated and go back to the only way they know to survive. Gotta break the cycle. A lot of lifers at MC are there for petty crimes too. That dont seem right.

See Elyka, everything will be ok. By the end of the month everything will be back to normal(visits). My ex had a bench warrant for driving with a suspended license too but his license wasnt suspended, just a DMV thing. At least there are people working on it now. If you need anything, let me know. The one thing I cant help is getting you someone to return your call from MC. LOL. No one has called me yet!

Q: My bank is washington mutual. I never make my deposits all at once because then it shows up on your statement as one lump deposit. Besides if there is an issue with one of the checks you deposit it's harder to find out which one it was or if you ever have to show proof that a check was cashed and or how much you received you know exactly the amount from your statement without having to wait for a print out.

How are you guys doing today??? I'm doing ok. I talked to my love last night. I was feeling frustrated and lonely. I want him to come home now! I even told him that. It's crazy, I asked him, "why is it hard now that his time is coming to an end?" We are both the biggest BRATS. I remember when we only got to see each other once a month if we were lucky and we never got to talk on the phone. Now I get to see him every weekend (God willing) and I want MORE!!!!

When we first started talking I was totally frustrated because the kids had the house looking crazy and they hadn't done their home work and it was almost 8 pm. So I was mad and frustrated. We talked and I told him how I felt. When he called back I was sensitive, because I realized how frustrating it must be for him to not be able to help me, when I know he wants to and I know he wants to come home.

Ms, at least every few weeks I throw in a line that it's time for him to come home or something to that effect. Ben loves to play practical jokes so I told him sometime around 5:00p to call a guard over and tell him that his wife just called and he needs to get home because dinner is getting cold! LMAO Will probably be a couple more weeks before I hear whether he does it or not.

I'd bank at Washington Mutual if there were any around. They're as rare as hen's teeth! I probably have one up the street from me and don't even know it! Had I known they were going to charge me for that check I would have gone to the 7-11 to get a cashier's check. I was on a mission and didn't have time to go running any more than I already had.

Okay, you guys apparently don't pay attention to what I say as I've mentioned the Enhanced Outpatient Program (EOP) several times. That program is helping Ben deal with his sobriety, anger management, family issues and the like so he is prepared to face the outside world with at least skills to fit into society and hopefully at least not do the things he did to land him where he is now. I agree the job training is a bit lax, but most of them have jobs to keep them busy. Ben was a porter which is a janitor, but he didn't get paid. I guess if nothing else, he could be a janitor if someone will hire him. I do know from the EOP program that any employer that hires Ben will get a stipend of $8,500 per year for two years. That is some incentive, but hard to say whether anyone will take a chance or not. Ben is determined to go to school and get an education, but hard to say whether or not that will do him any good because of his past. All we can do is pray for our men and pray for society to give them a chance. I personally don't care if he's a garbage collector as I'm prepared to carry the support burden. I knew that going in and I haven't ever tried to fool myself into thinking he's going to be the bread winner. It's important that he work to keep himself feeling productive and to avoid any chance of doing anything that would land him back at the train.

Q-I did hear ya when you talked about EOP however this type of program is not available to all inmates. Also not all prisons do a good job with the programs that they say they offer. Mule Creek is one of the better prisons. Also many guys are not eligilbe for jobs, programs because maybe they got in troouble or something else. I guess what I am saying is that yes there are some programs out there but that is not enough. So much more needs to be done. The money is there it is just not being used properly. I read an article recently about Pleasant Vallley State Prison in Coalinga. They are under investigation because money that was to be used for drug rehabilition programs was used to buy plasma tvs, car and all kinds of ridicuous things. Check out the forum "California News and Events" to read the article.

Yes, El, you are right. There isn't enough and I didn't realize that most did not have jobs. The EOP program is hard to get into. How Ben did is beyond me, but I am most grateful he did. Warehousing people in prisons is not any way to get them not to continue to return time and time again. They do need programs. No reason every inmate doesn't go to groups and be able to learn a trade or work close to their previous trade. That is unless it was drug dealing or stealing or murdering! There's nothing they can do at the prison level, anything has to come from Sacramento. So, we would need to get a hold of those congress people and give them an earful. Maybe there's something on that Yahoo Group that would be helpful on what we can do for prison reform.

Hi everyone! I just received a letter from my guy and he said that the "main man" (whatever title he holds) that is in charge of the California prisons was told to quit or he would be fired. Apparently he wasn't doing a good enough job helping the prisoners with programs and education, can you say, duh? So, maybe there's hope for some new blood to help for our loved ones. I was taking a nap and he called. I was kinda confused who was calling and what he was saying. When he said he had a date, I woke up fast!!! He said he asked her again for a wedding date. She told him she didnt know what he was talking about that she didnt have his marriage package:hmm:. So he filled a form ( a 602 or something...help me out guys I have no clue what I am saying) and she immediately replied the same day with a wedding date. Hmmm. Whatever! Not gonna try to figure that out.

The scoop is all the chaplains quit. Maybe someone can check that out. Coz we were about to go hire our own chaplain. What about the chaplain MsE saw last week? This is a story with no answer, just more questions. I'll leave it that I finally have a date.

also it was good that i wasnt married in Feb. coz when I renew my school fiinancial aid (FAFSA and CalGrant), I think it is better to be single coz then they start asking for his information. Everything happens for a reason.

I'm back!!! We went to the IMAX and saw Deep Sea in 3-D and Ancient Eygpt. The Deep Sea one want cool, but the Ancient Eygpt well it was boring, I mean interesting. lol

It's my weekend with the girl, but if you guys want to do adult things later I could always ask someone to watch them for me. =o) The wedding is at 11 right?

The weather isn't as bad as it was in Jan, so you should be fine. If it is you could just drive straight to my house and we could take Clifford the Big Red Dog. (That's what the girls call the excursion). No excuses we will get you there. =o)

Obe finally got his final copy of the report so hopefully he'll go to classification this Thursday (the 9th). Then 10 more days in orientation and back on the yard I'm guessing by the 20th. He says he's going to ask the warden for our visits back so maybe I'll be free to see him on the 25th. If not, we're trying to get me added to Lov's man's list so I can be a part of the festivities. I'll call visiting that week and see what the drill is for and where I visit my man. Lov, hope you put the paper in the mail to me!

Okay, went on another marathon of job interviews today. Head honcho is traveling so may have to go back to see him. Also have to teach water aerobics tonight for the gal who does Mondays. Not too thrilled, but my large body needs the workout. Dig this -- I've been working for YMCA off and on for nearly three years. Every time I turnaround I have to fill out yet another employment application. I've been back teaching since October 2005. Today I find out I have to fill out papers for the 5th time! Enough already! :angry: Taught over 20 classes and still haven't been paid!

The Best Western in Jackson will let 4 stay for $79.95 + tax for Sat. night if anyone has a AAA membership. If not the same room is $89.95 + tax. It will be 2 queen beds. Let me know if anyone is interested. If not then it is cool, I will stay at the luxurious motel in Galt. The motel is $48 per night. Not the nicest but it is decent plus the price is right.

Visiting on Sunday all depends on if he's out and about or behind glass. you know i'd sooner have needles stuck in my eye than talk on the stinking telephone with that button you have to push. how soon do you need to make the reservation? i believe it's a waste of my time to call since they won't return it before monday (13th) as they may need that few days to get the puter updated if he went to classification. relying on the mail for updates is very slow, but what can i do. probably even better if i call on the 20th. so, i'll keep you posted and you keep me posted. i'll be happy to visit on that sunday and spend the night to keep the bride company!

as far as ms's family visits by september - i would hope it would be much sooner. i'm clueless as to all of that since i don't get visits let alone family visits. i just hope she gets her family visits as soon as possible and my contact visits get reinstated by the 25th. not gonna hold my breath -- come april 2nd, i'll be sitting on that curb at 5:00a if i have to be first in line! LOL

Lov-I will proably only go up on Saturday not sure yet. Gotta make sure I am ok to visit. Oh and my husband wears jeans and a blue shirt. But the jeans are the ones he has do say "CDC PRISONER". That was when he first got there now he has regular jeans. Those pants crack me up but they are not has bad as the orange jumpsuit he wore in county!

Q-I think you were asking me this but my husband has always been in A yard. He got there in January of this year. Hopefully Ben will be able to have a regular visit on the 25th. So once he getsout of "the penthouse" ;) he has to get his visits back? why is that? I thought once they are out of the hole they go back to normal programming. And you really need to pick a fit about not getting paid. I would have been out of there after 5 classes!

Elizabeth- I agree with Lov you will be eligible for family visits WAY before September. I think that it goes so much faster when you are married there because they have already cleared you.

What happened with me is that when my husband called to say we were approved it was that his counselor had approved him for family visits but I still had to be approved and that is when that damn warrent came up. See you guys will have already gone thru clearance for the wedding so you will be able to get family visits real quick. I am thinking that Lov may have them before me!! :eek: I may have to fill out a whole new visting application. I will find out more later this week.

Last night I was a little upset. =o( I got a letter from MC that stated that I need to make a couple of adjustments to my marriage license application. The first one was I needed to spell out my dad's middle name. The second was my mom's middle name. And the third was she didn't like my signature. =o(

It's funny how on my previous marriage license they never asked for the whole middle name, just the initial. =o( I don't even have a cule how to spell my mom's middle name. =o(

My signature. . . well that was ridiculous. . . What happen to the times when X use to be good enough???? Who is she to criticize my signature???

When I got divorced from my X my attorney didn't change my last name back to my maiden, so I've lived with his last name since and since I hate it I always sign just elizabeth. It's like that on everything.

So now I have to fix it and send it back. She assured me that once she receives it she will be sending him his tentative papers and that May 20th is still a date. =o)

Q: Mine was on orientation on C yard when he first got there and then they transfered him to A yard and we had to do another orientation. =o( I don't remember how long it took, but at the time it seemed like forever.
