yeah, i think we're gonna start chatting over/under MSCP Chat - they made a room for us. we're still milling over what to call ourselves. see my post from last night. i haven't seen el, comment so don't know what's going on. we have a poll going right now, but since el posted it, we have found we have a real swell fellow in our midst so we're going to try to come up with something that isn't gender specific.

$ - Welcome and come to Where the Creek Meet to Greet where we chat our brains out. People will be real happy to help you out. We just went through this with one other person so read some old posts from the last several weeks and check out the thread for the MCSP Guide and read the visiting rules from the CDC. Very quickly - no underwire bras, no metal on the clothes, no grey, olive green or blue of any color, no denim. Have you ever visited before at a prison? If so, it's the same all over the State of California.

I have a pen pal in Creek, but I can't see all the postings because I don't have acces to it, maybe there is anybody who can fill me in on this how to get acces to certain items ?

I just found out that my son's fathers is in Mule creek and has been there since 1999. I have all his information and inmate number, but I can not find out any information about why he is there. I cant get a letter back from him and I dont know what to tell my son. I have never even known anyone in prison, so I do not know what direction to go. Please help!!

Markhill - CDCR will never give out his charges, so you can try another avenue. Try going to the County Superior Court website (like Sacramento County is www.saccourt.com (http://www.saccourt.com)), then go to the online serives or case data bases or criminal case information site. Somewhere on each court's website you should be able to search for an individual's name and then their charges will appear in that search. Some counties charge for the search and in other counties it's free. Try to find out what county he might have been charged in, or guess and continue to try to search.

Don't worry about never have knowing anyone in prison before. I never knew anyone that went or was in prison before until my fiance went in.

Personally, I would tell your child until you have all the facts. And remember just because you know he's charges does not mean you know the whole story. So it's in my personal opinion to wait to tell your child until you know more. Children ask questions to understand things and it's better to have more information to tell them, so that they don't worry even more than they will normally.

You can see them when you have Google earth .. This pictures who you want to see, are coming from this programm, it's a free download, so you can put in on your computer yourself and zoom in as much as you like .. Hope this helps you a little ..

Thank you Chanel, I just would really like to see it before I go and visit which will be next Friday the 16th hopefully. I haven't seen him in over two and a half years and I am so nervous. Have you been there?

I guess I don't need the pics anymore because now that I have been there, I will never forget it. It was really scary driving up to it but once I was inside and sitting down, I was able to relax more.

I am filling out the supposed paperwork for "family visitation" @ MCSP, but have questions regarding same prior to sending forms/payment. I there anyone I can call PRIOR to sending this? I have many extension #'s, but none seem to answer the phone for a human contact regarding this subject. An extension would be extremely helpful. HELP?

Evidently, you have a computer? Yes? Download "google Earth" it's free! Type in Mule Creek State Prison, & it will zoom you right to MCSP. It is a well kept facility, EZ visitor processing, & much quicker & safer then some I've been to. Delano is going to get some visitors killed unless they change or have changed thier visitation methods. It was VERY dangerous lining up there for visitation, then a MAD HOUSE to scramble in! I am glad I no longer have to go there! Total insanity, & that's before you ever get on the property!:sneeze:

Krazee, not sure what yard your man is on, PM me if you need some extension numbers. I've been collecting them!

Also, you can use ext 5500 to get the control switchboard. They can direct your call.

Hi Kim - Welcome to PTO and the Mule Creek Forum.

Mule Creek is in Ione, CA - about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Sonora according to Mapquest.
