This website that I found is called www.youarenotcrazy.com. It is geared toward verbal and emotional abuse and doesn't really touch much on physical violence. However I found it to be a real eye-opener.
On the site a woman named Eileen has posted the audio and transcript of an abusive argument she had with her former boyfriend. It's an amazing experince that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up because it sounded exactly like the kinds of arguments I used to have with a jerk I was invovled with.
The best part is that while you are listening you can click on a button that says "reveal abuse" and it tells you exactly how he's being abusive. It's hard to explain but I urge every woman on earth listen to it at some point. You can find the part I'm talking about under the label "The Quiz".
Honestly, the site's navigation is pretty awful, but take your time, wade through it, and be sure to listen to the recordings in "the quiz" area.
They talk a lot about how therapy really doesn't work for abusive men - often they actually use the therapist to justify their abuse and get the therapist on their side. Amazing stuff. I urge you all to take a look.
With much love,
Flubert
