Hi all. As most of you know my youngest daughter is in the Bristol City jail and is pregnant with Hep C and has no medical care since going to jail. Well my oldest daughter today decided to blitz the govt with emails basically. She sent emails to all 40 Senators in Virginia, Gov of Virginia. The President and Vice President of the United States, all the committees and Bureaus, and so forth that she could find in Washington that looked like they might be able to help, The gov of Tennessee, our Senators and congressmen, The commissioner of DCS Tennessee and her cabinet and a few others. LOL I told her I didnt have time to look for people who could help so could she send out some emails... Well she sure as HECK DID . I was on the phone at work saying YOU SENT AN EMAIL TO THE PRESIDENT???? and had a bunch of people standing around looking at me expectantly... lol. So heres hoping that someone somewhere with POWER pays attention. All I have to say isssss.... Way to go Kid... lol

Well so far a number of different district from the Virginia Senate has emailed back wanting to know what jail she is in. LOL you know they are praying its not one in their district. The commissioner of Prisons in Tennessee has emailed back wanting information. A large number of people have emailed back stating they are forwarding the email on to the department of corrections in Virginia and will be looking to see if any action is taken. The DOC in Va is going to be going nuts before to long with so many people suddenly looking their direction and shes not even in their system yet. I certainly hope that a few people get off their duffs and look at how prisoners are treated in Virginia now. Lets hope anyway.

My man is in Virginia and where's he's at there hasn't been too many problems with this sort of thing. But, I know alot of the prisons in VA have had ALOT of complaints. It is about time the government has stepped up. I am very proud of you and your family for speaking out. Just one person can make a huge difference. On behalf of me and my man>>THANK YOU.

Hi all thanks. I am going to post the email she sent out and then an email sent back from the National institute of Justice with links on the US Dept of Justice on where to report stuff about jails and prisons.
I am writing you today to beg for your help. I do not know if you
> can help
>>or not, nor exactly how to phrase this as a question, but I am
> desperate
>>for anything that can help my sister and her child.
>>
>>My sister is in jail, set to eventually be sent to
> the
>>state prison sometime in march, in the state of Virginia. I do not
> claim
>>she does not deserve to be there, but I have found out that she is
>>Hepatitus C positive, pregnant, and recieving NO medical care for
> either
>>condition.
>>
>>She has been in this jail since December 9, 2005, and as of this
> day, she
>>has not so much as seen a doctor walk by her cell. The jail took two
> weeks
>>to allow her the prenatal vitamins perscribed to her, and another
> month to
>>give her milk instead of coffee with her meals.
>>
>>I do understand that my sister did wrong, I do, and I firmly believe
> in
>>people paying for their crimes. However, I do not believe that the
> health
>>risk the baby is facing is fair or just, nor that my sister deserves
> the
>>deterioration of health she is experiencing because of lack of
> medical
>>care.
>>
>>I hope that you will see your way to do what you can to help.
> Please, she
>>and her unborn child need you.
>>
>>Thank you for your time and any effort you put forth on our behalf.
>>
>>With Respect,
>>
