I tell him over and over not to play with my emotions, and to just be "real", I tell him not to lie or feed me bull crap while he is in there. Today was one of those "ok" days. I should have gotten a letter today, but I didn't. Some days I just think more that others I guess, who knows. Ok..so its been an emotional few days. Our visit went good. I've been thinking alot about what its gonna be like, and the pressure is on and all that. I haven't really worried though. Until....I talked to my friend today, which is also married to Travis' brother. He is on drugs, and their marriage is pretty much over and all that, but its been a long time coming. Anyway, she kept telling me how I will see how their family is, that they will ruin my life, that they are scum and low life and all that. I know she is angry with them for "covering" for him and his lies...I guess they don't want to accept the fact that their son's are losers, ya know? I can see both sides, but I feel discouraged because she was so harsh with what she was saying. I also know that her and her soon to be ex husband (so she says) aren't me and Travis. I also know that Travis doesn't know how serious his brothers drug habit is, and he will be living in the same house as him when he is released. Actually both of his brothers are on drugs. He knows some things about him, but hearing and seeing are two totally different things. I guess it got me down a little. I don't know what to expect and that is the frustrating part. Its so close...so bring it on..ya know? Sorry if i went on and on..I just don't really know how to feel right now. What if I'm doing the wrong thing? I guess we'll just have to wait and see huh? One day at a time right?? Thanks for listening! 25 more days!!:p

I go away for a few days and people start giving you problems??!! Ok first off, dont let the disgruntled, soon to be ex wife put thoughts in your head cause she is upset. That's her opinion that she shouldnt try and put off on you.If she is giving you a heads up then thats different but if she is p.o'd and just trying to make you not like the family then I would be weary of even dealing with her. I will say that I have learned from experience to watch how involved you get with the inlaws cause they can turn on you at anytime. However, you are not in a relationship with them so don't let their weirdness have any place in your life! You focus on your man! It will all be worth it and Girl it doesnt matter what they say or do, the proof is in the pudding, so to speak, meaning that it's all gonna be on Travis to do right by you and let his actions speak for themselves.Don't let this get you down Ash, you only have 25 more to go!!! Stay calm and focused!!!!

poppisgurl: Your right...problem is the soon to be ex wife has been my friend for about 10 years now. I've known Travis' family for that long also, but I haven't been involved with them like she has. I guess like you said, it all depends on the situation. She gets so upset and says very hurtful things. She was giving me a heads up that I will soon see how they are. But...I already know that they cover for one another, thats obvious. I don't agree with either side of the situation, becuase I see they are both wrong and they want to blame one another instead of looking to see where they are wrong themselves. She gets so angry...and said she didn't even want her son around them anymore. She may change her mind, because she says things in anger and rage that she feels at the time. I'm just trying to take it with a grain of salt and focus on my situation, but it is discouraging. I was doing so good,and now this. Of course, it could be worse, so I am thankful for that! I also worry that Travis hasn't prepared himself for the shock of seeing his brother with this addiction. Maybe he has, and he hasn't talked to me about it. I know its in the prison with him, but those men aren't his family, and I just don't want him hurt either,ya know. I want him to come home to at least a halfway normal life, but he's not...and it sucks...for everyone, ya know? Only time will tell, and I know I'll be ok no matter what, so I'm worried for nothing. It just sucks and gets me down a little.

Girl I read those posts too and even a good percentage in the "now that your loved one is home" forum are really depressing or scary:( . But as someone here told me choose not to become a statistic!
