Can anyone tell me how early I should arrive at DVI? Is there a hotel nearby? How do the CO's treat you? I have finally been approved to visit and I'm so nervous.

My love one is not there and I can't answer the question about the CO's or what time you should arrive but here is some info I hope can be of use to you.

Directions:From Sacramento:
Option 1:

Take I-5 South for approx 62.3 miles
Take the Kasson Road exit
Turn left (east) over the over pass onto Kasson Road
Turn left onto the entrance road, immediately after going over the railroad tracksor

Option 2:

Take Highway 99 South for approx. 47 miles
Merge onto CA-4, toward 1-5/Downtown Stockton/San Francisco
Merge onto I-5 South toward San Francisco/Los Angeles
Continue for approx. 16 miles;
Take the Kasson Road exit
Turn left (east) over the overpass onto Kasson Road
Turn left onto the entrance road immediately after going over the railroad tracksFrom San Francisco:

Take I-580 East for approx. 46 miles
Merge onto I-205 East; continue for approx. 9 miles
Take the Mac Arthur Drive exit
Turn right (south) onto Mac Arthur Drive; continue for approx. 67 miles
Turn left (east) onto Grant Line Road, continue approx. 5 miles

Hi, I have been to DVI three times to visit my brother. The visiting hours are starting at 8;30. NO need to get there early, they start taking yourbinformation at 8;30 by the time you get to the visiting, it's almost nine. The BEST WESTERN is where I stay. It's the closest to the prison, and the easiest to get to and from your motel. two basic roads, tracy blvd and grant dr. Go online to get directions from BW to DVI. The C/O's are just that, C/O's. Your their to see your people. Most of them are okay. Your allowed to take 30.00 in quarters in a clear purse, although I have taken more, they dont count it. Pictures cost 2.00 and the vending machines are okay. Food costs about 3.00 for a sandwhich. I hope you have a GREAT visit!!!! Hope this helps.
