Hi 57 T-Bird, maybe you should call the unit and ask these questions. It doesnt seem anyone here knows the answers. :( Congratulations on the release!

I don't know of anyone who has been able to send clothing in for release - typically the prison will provide street clothes for release - jeans, shoes that they already have or slippers and a shirt and boxers for their trip home - they used to give inmates who did not have money on their books, $50 to get home - if they are being picked up at prison on release day - by someone you have to contact the prison and confirm you are picking an inmate up - they will tell you what time to be there by - otherwise, they take them on a bus away from the prison site to the nearest local bus station and drop them off there - ride or not -

After release the inmate has to report to his parole officer within 24 hours - the parole officer will provide information on where that inmate is approved to live, rules, etc. - before release the community corrections dept will have already approved placement - usually in a halfway house - at first, sometimes with friends or relatives, but even if you are married to that inmate they are not required to allow placement with family/wife etc. when they are released from prison - sometimes they don't approve it and a halfway house is the only option - this is all arranged before hand - and the inmate will have this info when he leaves - or will get it when he reaches his destination after release - from the parole officer.
