Ladies, How long does it take to get approved for visits at SVSP?

Well my boyfriend is at CTF and I mailed mine in end of December and I still haven't heard back and neither has he. So lets say they got it begining of January.....I am going on 7 weeks. You can "try" calling the prison and ask if you are approved but they are not supposed to give you the information, but you never know. Might get lucky!

I was Approved at Calipatria but I had a gut feeling something was wrong so I called and they told me I had to reapply for visits. This is his first time ever being transferred.

I think that it is getting faster, but it was taking up to 3 months at Salinas. I know it only took about 4 weeks for my cousin to get approved.

Today I got the form back from my boyfriend that I am approved :yay: So it looks like Soledad is taking the full 6-8 weeks for processing :yuck: Now I just need to wait for them to come off lockdown and then I can start posting in the "who will be visiting CTF/SVSP this weekend" thread ;)

Yes Mother! I sent it in on Feb 14th but here's the thing I saw him christmas day at Calipatria and now that he moved they want me to reapply and don't understand why. Thanks for the help Megan.

I have read on other post that you need to reapply every two years. Would that be what you are facing right now? Well I hope it is a quick approval. Just remember as much as you are thinking and wanting to see him he is thinking the same but probably 10 times more. It is hard when you can’t visit and then the mail is slow but remember you have us to talk to. I am really happy that we started this Sub-Forum it is my second home. :grouphug:

Megan you are so right, this is the first place I go when I set at the computer, I am so addicted, I am constantly looking for new posts. If I didnt have all of you, it would be so lonely, because we are all going through this terrible time in our life, and we can be ourselves, and actually talk to someone who really understands just how hard this is. I know I will walk away when this nightmare is over with friends that I can continue to stay in contact with. See there is an upside in all this.

I sent in a visiting form for my husband to go visit my brother with me in the begining of Jan. still havent herd anything yet. I was approved to visit my brother over 2 yrs ago and havent had to send in a new visiting form.

Im still waiting for a reply. and its been about a week maybe 2 and this is for salinas.

I'm still waiting on my husbands aproval forom my brother. Its been 2 1/2 months.....crazy....:angry:

Ladies my visit was approved I sent the form on 3/18/06 and he called yesterday that it was approved!!! WOOOOHOOOO

By any chance did they tell you why they won't approve him?

They said he didn't disclose his full arrest record according to the department of justice records. Which is crazy he's been arrested twice but they dropped the chardes both times, hes never been sentenced to do any time, gone to prison, been on probation or parole. They say send a new form with all info but we have done this twice. If I send another one it will just have the same info and be denied again.

Is there a web site you can get your husbands info.? The only reason I'm asking is because I put all the charges when I was arrested and also sent the print out and I got approved in a week. Possibly this will help, if you have not already tried this..
