lilluv117 02-17-2006, 07:20 PM Is C-74 the same thing as ARDC? I thought ARDC was for adolescents and C-74 was if you were waiting to be sent upstate... I'm just curious because I'm expecting my husband to be sentenced soon and he said he'd be sent to C-74 and I've been wondering where that is. :)
Evilnlita033005 02-18-2006, 03:24 PM Yea, C74 is ARDC which is the adolencent facility but when they are a few weeks to be sent up they either go to ARDC and OBCC.
lilluv117 02-18-2006, 11:11 PM Oh really? Does it matter what there classification is? My husband is in GRVC which is a max at Rikers... does that mean he'll go to OBCC when he gets sentenced? He's in for a drug charge but they still put him in the max facility.
Evilnlita033005 03-07-2006, 07:56 AM It honestly depends because if he gets sentenced to stay in Riker's he will be in CIFM. But he's in GRVC? Jesus Christmas, that's where all the murderers and rapists are. If he's about to be sent upstate, they'll move him to either ARDC for two weeks or OBCC.
beba26 06-24-2006, 12:37 PM What About For Violation Of Probation??
Evilnlita033005 06-26-2006, 07:15 AM Anyone with a violation of probation has a choice of 3 months, 6 months, 8 months, or a year. Usually, they would have to cop out or plead guilty. Depending on the amount of time and the amount of space, they can stay in CIFM or be transferred upstate after they cop a plea.
Soheartfelt 03-27-2007, 05:47 AM My boyfriend is in RNDC, the DOC website said it's for 16 to 18 yo, but he is 34.
thatwiz 03-28-2007, 11:55 AM RNDC is also where they go if they will soon go Upstate.
jalove 03-29-2007, 01:56 PM Yes thatwiz is right RNDC also know as ARDC or c-74 is for those that have been sentenced already. My husband was there and is 31 and he is not yet sentenced. They also put them there depending on classification.
William'sBaby 03-28-2008, 01:48 PM I didn't really search this forum for this info, so forgive me if it is already listed somewhere. Anyway, I wanted to write an inmate at NIC and I'm not sure what to write on the envelope. I have his inmate number but I don't know what else to put. Can anyone help me with this?

If you call information, you can ask for Riker's Island inmate information. Or you can hust google it. You need her date of birth.

As far as I'm aware, Fishkill's NOT Reception, they HAVE to go to a Reception Prison 1st when they go Upstate. I read posts from others on here before and I thought ALL Rikers inmates go to Ulster for Reception first when they go upstate.
What's the 6 building?

Oh, I'm not sure if my hubby's going upstate to Reception from Suffolk county jail in Riverhead or Rikers as he has cases in both places (in Queens when he's in Rikers) but he's primarily there for Suffolk county, the Queens case was dropped to a misdemeanor, it's not serious and it's been going on for 11 months already, he's been in jail for 6 months now.
But what's the 6 building?

The 6 building is the same as emtc/C-76/CIFM.. Basically its the building for sentences ppl.

Thanks! Hubby's case in Queens got dropped & he's at Downstate Reception now since June 17th so he may be going to his next upstate facility soon. I'm saving money on calls, he can Only call for 10 - 15 minutes once a day usually right now, so all our calls are less than $1 each right now but now comes the expensive part soon of packages, clothes, food, toiletries without alcohol, shoes, etc., etc., etc., not to mention commissary money. I got to see hubby for an hour visit the day before he left county & then his grandmother who raised him died the Sunday after he left & I was able to (along with his aunt & Father's help) get the paperwork in for him to go to the wake last week on Tuesday so I & his family were able to kiss, hug, talk, etc. to him, for an hour, not to mention he got to see his grandmother. Then I saw him for 4 1/2 hours for a visit on Saturday so now I have No idea when I can afford to see him again, I Also have the expense of moving, I haven't found a place yet but I want to move September 1st before my daughter starts school. So now the financial stress Really is setting in, Not to mention the anxiety of wondering where they're going to send my husband & hoping it's not far & not knowing when he'll be leaving & not being able to talk to him for however long it takes to get him there, and also not knowing what time he'll call me every day, it varies so far from 9 AM & 7 PM & Hoping I'm home when he calls, but So far I Only missed 1 call.
Anyway, Thanks again & Take Care,
Sindarla
