Hello Ladies,
By any chance are your loved ones getting your mail? Because I wrote my husband in the beginning of January and he hasn't received any mail.
Thanks,
Nena

Hi Andrea!
Seems since around xmas the mail is even more of a mess than before. My letters from Germany usually took about 3 weeks (for the last 2 years). Now even faster postcards take 4-5 weeks. My friend at last filed a ?600?? (forgot the number, you know, complaint form) and imagine: suddenly he got 3 letters on the same day, all more than a month old.
I think with all the lockdowns the mailroom/warehouse is so packed. Maybe we should complain too but I don`t know if this is possible and not bad for our friends inside?

sometimes it takes my husband up to 3 weeks to receive mail from me. the last week of jan. he said he had just received mail from me for christmas so it all depends i guess because other times he'll get it within 2 weeks but always between 2-3 weeks.

So far in 2006 i have sent my husband like 6 cards and 10 letter, he has only recieved 2 and that was 28 days and 32 days after the post mark on them. The mail up there is so bad and I get so frusterated when I call up there and hear that they are understaffed so they will get it when they get it.

My boyfriend said yesterday that it is taking 4 or 5 weeks to get his mail. I have started to send him a weekly "package" using certified mail. He gets it in 2 days and has to sign for it. It is a little mosre costly, but it makes him smile and that it is all that matters. I still send other things regular mail as a nice surprise, but the stuff I sent early January has yet to make it to him!

i find it extremely slow. i mailed my pal a valentines card in the middle of january hoping he would get it in time for valentines day and he still has not recieved it. it takes about a month to get mail from him and we still think we are missing mail. its floating in the mailroom somewhere.

This is absolutely crazy. The Title 15 states that they have 7 days to distribute mail, and never once has it got there that quickly. I hate to have to send things to him certified mail just for him to actually recieve it in the same month. As of yesterday he had not recieved any of the cards I sent him for Valentine's that were mailed in January. So they are already over 3 weeks behind. He started to think that I forgot to send him one.

Yes, at the moment it takes about 5 weeks instead of nearly 3 weeks to get my mail to my friend! And you can see it is a mess because he gets letters out of order, so they are of course already packed intheir warehouse or whatever! Can`t we complain? Would it be bad in a way for our friends if we complain from the outside? My friend filed a form ?? to the mailroom and he got it back saying he had no proof that the mail was so slow! Funny!!!

You know I think that this guy is our new ombudsman since Diego went and took the warden job. I have sent him off a ltter complaining about the length of the mail delivery and I am including his address in case any of you guys would like to as well.

Matthew.Thomas@cdcr.ca.gov

I'm not exactly sure if that follows the rules for PTO, so if it is removed PM me and I will give you Matthew Thomas' email addy

The mailroom claims to be short staffed. I have to send everything Certified in order for him to get it in 3-4 days. His mail gets to me in 2-7 days. There is a $2.85 fee on top of the postage, but I don't get the return receipt added because that takes longer for some reason.

I can understand being short staffed but that has been the excuse for the past few years and this is just too much. A month plus to get some mail, that is crazy.

Hello Ladies, I thought for sure me and my papa were being picked on because I don't recall it ever taking this long anywhere else for him to get his mail. It is so ridiculous, I called and spoke to someone in the mail room too and was told they are short staffed and 4 weeks behind in mail. I have been sending mail, packages, money orders, etc.. since January 23rd and he hasn't received not one thing as of yet. You say you can send things certified? I know you can send money orders but can you send their writing materials or letters in a big envelope? Would appreciate any info on what you send certified, because at this point I need to send some stamps and envelopes, he is running out. I have sent him 5 packages and still nothing, now these people are gonna mess my mind up if he can't get his writing materials to write me :(

I actually went the other day and just sent a big manilla envelope full of paper, stamps and envelopes along with as money order, pictures a letter and some internet stuff printed out for him, all by certified mail. I felt like I damn near sent him a 30 lb. package. So hopefully he will get that pretty soon. I know he was getting discouraged because he got my Valentine card yesterday, like 43 days after the post mark. In the past I know that letters that I have sent money orders in got to him so much fatser then his regular mail. So my trick was to go and get 10 $10 money orers and put one in each letter, that way I knew he would get it quickly, and it worked.

Still no email back from our ombudsman either about the mail situation, not that I expect to get promising results.

I am soooooo frustrated with the mailroom at SVSP. My guy has yet to receive the 2 certified letters that I sent him 3 and 2 weeks ago. The mailroom signed for them and mailed me back the cards. My guy thought that I had forgotten about him! Never! It's that mailroom. Are they still using the Pony Express? Why spend extra money for certified if they will take weeks to get it to him? I have been doing this for awhile now and this problem just happened in the last few weeks. Otherwise he got everything else that I sent in 2-3 days.
